Verna L. Moran Died December 10, 2000 MANCELONA-Verna L. Moran, 65, of Mancelona, died Sunday at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. Born in Kalkaska on October 28, 1935, Verna was the daughter of Alvah H. and Thelma (Rugg) Johnson. On January 1, 1954, in Alden, she married Robert Moran, who survives. Mrs. Moran was a caseworker for the Family Independence Agency prior to her retirement, and resided in Utica before moving to this area. She was a member of the State Retired Employee Association and the Quality Thyme Garden Club. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. Besides her husband, Verna is survived by three sons, David (Sherry) Moran of Metamora; Richard (Audrey) Moran of Rangely, Colo.; and Mark (Karla) Moran of Battle Creek; a brother, Alvah (Doris) Johnson of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; six granchildren; and four step grandchildren. One brother, Glen Johnson, preceded Verna in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Bob Stark will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be directed to the American Lung Association. |
