December 25, 2000ObituariesWENDELL GAGE LOVELESS, 77, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church. A full obituary will run in the Tuesday edition of the Record-Eagle. Beatrice Oda Pierce Died December 23, 2000 BENZONIA - Beatrice Oda Pierce, 84, of Benzonia, died Saturday at the West Woods of Niles Nursing Home in Niles. She was born April 23, 1916, in Frankfort, the daughter of Grover and Elizabeth (Martin) Noffsinger. On July 3, 1935, in Benzie County, Beatrice married Frederick C. Pierce, who survives. Beatrice was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the Grace Christian Church and the Blaine Christian Women's Fellowship. A homemaker, she liked to cook and especially enjoyed making candy. She was a caregiver to her family in their time of need. Beatrice also loved flowers and gardening. Beatrice is survived by her husband, Frederick C. Pierce; her sons, James (Frances) Pierce of Traverse City, and Donald Pierce of Benzonia; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Sean) Bogunia of Niles, and James (Stephanie) Pierce, Jr. of Niles; one great-grandson, James Pierce III; one brother, Martin Noffsinger of Benzonia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, James, Dale, Cyril, Glen and Judson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home, with Rev. Chester Axline officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Christian Church.
