He was a former Pastor of St. Rita's Parish in Maple City.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew Cathedral in Grand Rapids, where a funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation will also be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church in Manistee, where a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are being handled by The Herbert Funeral Home, PC in Manistee. Deborah Jeanne Graham Died November 2, 2000 INTERLOCHEN - Deborah Jeanne Graham, 38, of Interlochen, died Thursday. Born Nov. 8, 1961, in Sennelager, Germany, she was the daughter of Thomas R. and Jeanne M. Ghastin. Deborah was a 1980 graduate of Traverse City Senior High School. She was employed as a booker and dispatcher. She also volunteered many times at Benzie schools for her daughter's activities. She enjoyed outdoor activities, especially camping, volleyball, boating and picnics. She spoke fluent "Debanese." She is survived by her two daughters, Kristy L. and Maria A. Graham, both at home, and their father, David M. Graham of Karlin; her mother, Jeanne M. Ghastin of Traverse City; her father, Thomas R. (Magdelina) Wardell of Duelman, Germany; five sisters, Lisa R. (Michael) Ringer of Yuma, Ariz., Lynnette S. (Donald) Widner of Walnut Cove, NC, Sarah M. (David) Smith of Traverse City, Micheala Wardell and Alexandra Wardell - both of Duelman, Germany; a brother, Thomas Wardell of Duelman, Germany; her beloved friend, Robert Worm, Sr. and his children, Robert Jr. and Jessica, of Interlochen; maternal grandmother, Clara B. Bannon of Traverse City; three nieces; one nephew; two aunts; one uncle; and many many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Glen Walters officiating. "She will be truly missed" Virginia K. King Died November 3, 2000 TRAVERSE CITY - Virginia K. King, 73, of Traverse City, died Friday at Munson Medical Center. Born Aug. 20, 1927, in Dearborn, she was the daughter of Warren J. and Nellie (Lewis) Faye. Along with being a homemaker, Virginia was a member of VFW Cherryland Post No. 2780 Auxiliary and a former member of the Munson Medical Center Auxiliary and the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, John S. King, of Traverse City; two sons, Richard (Sue) King and James (Cheryl) King - both of Traverse City; nine grandchildren, grandma's pride and joy, Kimberly, Kelly, "Jim" Bramer, Kari, Janette (Jack) Halligan, David, Marcus, Holly, Scott and Kaitlin; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Bramer and Hillary Witkop. She is also survived by her mother, Nellie Frye, of Traverse City; two brothers, James (Inez) Frye of Torch Lake and Robert Frye of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren J. Frye. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Alvin Lewis 'Al' Nesky Died November 2, 2000 TRAVERSE CITY - Alvin Lewis "Al" Nesky, 78, of Traverse City, died Thursday at home. Born Oct. 12, 1922, in Traverse City, he was the son of John and Agnes (Zelinski) Aniskowski. On April 28, 1947, in Traverse City, he married the former Helen F. Sleder. A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II, Al survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. For 20 years he owned and operated Auto Wholesalers in Flint. He began his employment with Traverse Motors in 1973, retiring in 1984 as a manager of the auto body shop. Al attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church. His hobbies included oil painting, reading, gardening, all sports and music. He especially enjoyed being a general handy man around the house. He is survived by his wife, Helen F. Nesky of Traverse City; one grandson, Jonathan Nesky of Kentwood; and one great-grandson, Jonas Nesky. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jo Hasse of Traverse City; four nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter-in-law, John and Pamela Nesky in 1974; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Nesky in 1984; a son, Jeffrey Nesky in 1997; and a brother, Clarence Nesky. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Dr. David Gabel and Rev. Bradley Will officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Munson Medical Center Auxiliary. ROBERT B. SCHWEITZER, 69, of Manistee; died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000. A retired builder, he was born March 4, 1931. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Manistee. |
