SBONEK, 98, of Traverse City, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Tendercare in Traverse City. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. Special services will be held during the evening visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A full obituary will appear in Saturday's Record-Eagle. WILHELMINE R. TANNER, 64, of Suttons Bay, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Munson Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. Elsie Emma Kapke Died November 15, 2000 TRAVERSE CITY - Elsie Emma Kapke, 94, of Traverse City, died Wednesday at her home. A lifelong resident of this area, she was born Aug. 2, 1906, in Solon Township, Leelanau County, the daughter of Joseph A. and Nellie (Erickson) Herman. She married Arthur Kapke. Elsie and her husband owned a farm in Kasson Township for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Margariette Talley of Traverse City; a sister, Hazel (Charles) Hilton of Wyoming, Mich.; two nieces, Ruth (Bob) De Vrou of Omena and Donna Foster of Grand Rapids; and a nephew, Calvin (Pam) Hilton of Wayland. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arthur. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes, where visitation will be from noon Saturday until the time of service. Rev. Louis Grettenberger will officiate. Burial will be at East Kasson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grand Traverse Area Parkinson's Support Group. Frances B. 'Fran' Stawick Died November 15, 2000 LAKE LEELANAU - Frances B. 'Fran' Stawick, of Lake Leelanau, died Wednesday at Birchwood Nursing Center in Traverse City. A longtime and proud member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, she retired from the State of Michigan Department of Agriculture in Traverse City, where she was employed as a secretary. Fran is survived by her husband, Bruno J. Stawick, of Lake Leelanau. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, where a scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. James Hayden serving as celebrant. Burial will be at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Mass intentions. |
