Obituaries

PAUL HENRY BROERING, 95, of Fife Lake, died Friday evening, Nov. 17, 2000, at home.
      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake. Burial will be in Covington, Ky. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley.
     
      CHARLES E. 'CHICK' HEJL, 70, of Bear Lake, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at The Maples in Frankfort. A retired landfill owner, he was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Oak Park, Ill.
      Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home in Bear Lake. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m Tuesday at Bear Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bear Lake.
     
      KENNETH H. KIRSCH, 67, of Traverse City, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, in Texas.
      A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. A full obituary will appear at a later date.
     
      CHESTER A. RICHARD, JR., 77, of Interlochen, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at home.
      Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home. A complete obituary will appear in Monday's Record-Eagle.
     
      DELLA A. (PANTAZOPOULOS) ROSS, 75, of Cedar, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at her home.
      Arrangements are pending with Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.
      Dr. Henry Arthur Dunlap
      Died November 7, 2000
      TRAVERSE CITY - Dr. Henry Arthur Dunlap, 96, of Traverse City, formerly of Grosse Pointe, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Grand Traverse Pavilions. He was born Oct. 27, 1904, in Detroit.
      Dr. Dunlap retired as a self-employed Ophthalmologist in 1973. After retiring from medical practice, Dr. Dunlap moved to Traverse City where he enjoyed attending musical performances at Interlochen and played in the Elks Men's Golf League. He also enjoyed weekly Bible study, gardening and travel. Dr. Dunlap was a 25 year member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he was an elder, and devoted to and active in Stephen Ministries. He was also a member of the Traverse City Elks Lodge and Bayview Yacht Club, where he was a Commodore in 1953.
      He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Josephine Burkit Dunlap; two children, Robert William (Gayle) Dunlap, M.D. of Tiburon, Calif. and Nancy Stephen of Traverse City; two grandchildren, David Stephen of Aspen, Colo. and Anne (Bill) Winters of Ann Arbor; three great-grandchildren, Sean, Henry and Kirby Winters; and one sister, Jean Lawrence of Troy.
      Two sisters preceded him in death, Margaret Anthony of Redford and Eleanor Kendrick of Mt. Clemens.
      A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 6255 Telegraph Road, Bloomfield Hills.
      In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated for Munson Hospice in Traverse City and the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen.
      The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
