STEPHEN MANN, 58, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000.
      Arrangements are pending at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
     
      BEAULAH "ERNIE" WEAVER, 66, of Grayling, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000. A homemaker, she was born May 25, 1934, in Lansing.
      Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel in Grayling. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with additional visitation from noon Saturday until the time of service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Frederic.
     
      Colin Jay 'CJ' Gould
      Died October 16, 2000
      TRAVERSE CITY - Colin Jay 'CJ' Gould, 23, went to be with his God on Monday.
      Born Jan. 29, 1977, in Ironwood, he was the son of Bob and Judy Gould of Traverse City.
      Colin attended Traverse City Senior High School, where he was a member of the soccer team and an avid skier. He also attended Northwestern Michigan College and was currently a senior at Western Michigan University in the Lee Honors College studying biological science. He had been inducted into several honorary societies, including Phi Beta Kappa, Mortarboard, and the Golden Key. His passion was environmental research and he had spent the past summer at the University of Michigan Biological Station in Pellston.
      Colin loved the outdoors and northern Michigan woods. He spent his free time hiking, camping, biking and canoeing. Known as CJ to his friends, his quiet, unassuming, gentle manner will be missed by all who knew him.
      Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Weston of Burlington, Vermont and Chad of Boston, Massachusetts; grandparents, Robert and Vera Gould of Benzonia and Parrish, Fla.; and his grandmother, Virginia Rodgers of Franklin.
      Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday from Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Bailey officiating.
      Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in his name to the Munson Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center.

      Lyle Pratt
      Died October 17, 2000
      HONOR - Lyle Pratt, 87, of Honor, died Tuesday at The Maples in Frankfort. Lyle was a retired truck driver for the Benzie County Road Commission.
      Born April 26, 1913, in Oneal, he was the son of Hosea Benjamin and Olive Jane (Brotherton) Pratt. In 1965, in Traverse City, he married the former Ardith Hammond. In 1978, in Frankfort, he married the former Jesse Haas.
      Survivors include stepdaughters, Darlene (Julius) Heniser of Frankfort and Katherine Anderson of Flint; stepsons, Paul Hammond of Honor, Jim Hammond of Frankfort, Gerald (Lois) Hammond of Beulah and Charles (Betty) Hammond of Traverse City; a step-daughter-in-law, Lois Morris of Tacoma, Wash.; and several grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Helen Bradford.
      Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah with Rev. Kathryn Coombs officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home at the time of service. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire.
      Memorials may be directed to The Maples - Benzie County Medical Care Facility or to the charity of one's choice.
     
      Anthony A. 'Tony' Ruskowski Sr.
      Died October 18, 2000
      TRAVERSE CITY - Anthony A. "Tony" Ruskowski, Sr., of Traverse City, died Wednesday at home after a two and a half year battle with cancer.
      Born Nov. 16, 1927, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Anthony Charles "Charlie" and Anna Ruskowski. He married Celine Lukasiewicz on Jan. 16, 1954. They made their home in Detroit for 20 years and then retired to Mesick for 26 years. They recently moved to Traverse City.
      Tony spent 25 years with the Detroit Police Department and retired as a detective sergeant of the First Precinct in downtown Detroit. He was a member of the Retired Detroit Police Officer Association, the Detroit Police Lieutenants and Sergeants Association, the Snowbirds and the 772nd Combat Military Police Association. He was also a veteran of the 101st Airborn Division during World War II and the 772nd Combat Military Police Unit during the Korean War.
      Tony loved northern Michigan and enjoyed spending time with his family. Tony will be sadly missed by his wife, Celine; children, Linda (Ruskowski) and Gregory Root, Tony and Christine (Brown) Ruskowski, Jerry and Biz (Gaff) Ruskowski, Ann Ruskowski, Paul and Anne (Miller) Ruskowski and Mary Beth Ruskowski; grandchildren, Jessica and Emily Kalis, Zachary Root, Jerry Jr. and Anthony Joel (A.J.), Ryan and Sally and Timothy Ruskowski. Tony is also survived by his brother, Rev. Clifford Ruskowski of St. Owen's Parish of Bloomfield Hills; sisters, Angie (Ruth) Fobare of Pontagorda, Fla. and Diane Glaza of Leonard; and many relatives, nieces and nephews.
      His parents, Charlie and Anna Ruskowski, preceded him in death.
      Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City with Tony's brother, The Rev. Father Clifford Ruskowski and the Rev. Father William Lipscomb serving as con-celebrants. Interment will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
      Memorial contributions may be made to Munson Hospice or for Mass donations.
     
      Arthur D. Wheelock
      Died October 18, 2000
      TRAVERSE CITY - Arthur D. Wheelock, 85, of Traverse City, died Wednesday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Born March 27, 1915, in Traverse City, he was the son of Addison and Hattie (Durga) Wheelock. On July 4, 1935, in Traverse City, he married the former Betty E. McDermott.
      Arthur was formerly employed by Armour Estate for 13 years where he worked with his father in farm management. Later he managed Murray Farms on Old Mission Peninsula for 33 years. In 1973 he retired and moved to Florida. Arthur loved and enjoyed hunting and raising hunting dogs. He cued, and along with his wife, taught round dancing for many years at square dance clubs.
      He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Wheelock of Traverse City; four children, Warren A. Wheelock and his friend Bertha Ockert of Traverse City, Howard P. (Liz) Wheelock of Traverse City; Patricia L. Penney and her friend Frank Shumsky III of Traverse City, and Donald N. Wheelock and his fiancŠe Jean Long of Traverse City; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special cousin and his wife, Leroy and Elma Wheelock of Traverse City.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ethyln Irish, Mamie Nottke and Bertha Williamson; and one brother, Raymond Wheelock.
      Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Huffman officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
      Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the Long Lake Friends Church.
