December 9, 2001ObituariesLAKE WALES, Fla. - Josephine Ann Stafford Thomas, 58, of Lake Wales, Fla., and formerly of Traverse City and Flint, passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at her home in Lake Wales.Josephine was born in Flint on May 31, 1943. She lived in the Traverse City area until 1982, when she moved to Orlando, Fla. While in Orlando, Josephine was employed as a paralegal, specializing in personal injury for the law firm of Bogan, Munns and Munns. She then moved to Lake Wales about two years ago. Josephine was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her children, Mary E. Thompson of Orlando, Fla., Laura J. Chouinard of Traverse City and Steven T. Stafford of Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her brother, Robert Dorr Sr. of Naples, Fla.; and her former husband, Earl W. Thomas of Lake Wales, Fla. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association, 15438 North Florida Ave. #107, Tampa, FL 33613. Arrangements were handled by Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, Fla. RAYMOND THOMAS SPEDDING, age 84, of Traverse City, passed away on Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Grace Episcopal Church of Traverse City. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
