December 25, 2001ObituariesTRAVERSE CITY - Adele Lorraine Anderson, 75, of Traverse City and Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Bloomfield Township, died Sunday at home.Survivors include her husband, Walter Anderson of Traverse City; children, David (Ann) Anderson of Traverse City, Gary (Ann) Anderson of West Bloomfield, Nancy (David) Tigue of Clarkston, Jeffrey (Dina) Anderson of Farmington Hills; ten grandchildren, Katie, Gavin, Mark, Brady, Abby, Lindsay, Alyssa, Andrew, Trent, and Kevin; and a sister, Doris Burghardt of Chicago, Il. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carletta. A memorial service will be at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Roseland Park Cemetery in Royal Oak. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. TRAVERSE CITY - Formerly of Grand Ledge - Jane M. Parks Decke, loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother passed away Monday, Dec. 24 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions at the age of 86. Jane was the only child of Charles and Blanche MacManamon of Lansing. She married Harold Parks in 1935. He passed away in 1976. She then married long-time family friend Bruce Decke in 1983. He passed away in 1997. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Bill Millar, and Susan and Dan Bross; three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, and a dear cousin, Alice Ledyard. A daughter, Sondra predeceased her in 2000. The Funeral Service will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church in Traverse City with The Rev. D. Edward Emenheiser officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service. Burial will take place at Deepdale Memorial Park in Lansing the following day with The Rev. Charles Millar officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society. Arrangements are being made by The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. MT. CLEMENS - Edith M. Amend, 88, a long time resident of Detroit and the Northern suburbs, died on Dec. 23, 2001, in Mt. Clemens. She was born on Aug. 23, 1913, in Old Mission Peninsula, the daughter of the late John and Frieda Kroupa. Edith was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She was the last of nine children from the John and Frieda Kroupa family. She was a loving mother of John Amend and Linda Schimeck (the late Lawrence). Dear grandmother of Jennifer (Thomas) Schleyer and Elise Schimeck and a great-grandmother of Courtney. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Adam Amend on July 26, 1997. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13 1/2 mile) in Warren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. TRAVERSE CITY - Sylvia Jane Weaver, 92, of Traverse City, and South Daytona Beach, Fla., died Dec. 21, 2001, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born Feb. 4, 1909, in Lake Ann, the daughter of Earhardt and Anna (Nieman) Strohm and had resided in Traverse City the last few years, Previously living in South Daytona Beach, Fla. for over 20 years. She had been a beautician for a major salon in the Detroit area prior to her retirement and had been an air warden in the Civil Defense Program during the war. Sylvia was a very talented and gifted artist, painting watercolors and working in ceramics. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Dayton Beach, Fla. and enjoyed gardening, flowers, home decorating and was a fastidious house keeper. Sylvia is survived by her son, David and his wife, Carol Weaver of Traverse City; her grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn Nickloy of Livonia; David R. Weaver of Troy, Lisa Brown of Redford Twp., Maria Rosser of Fraser, Tammy Moore of Gainesville, Ga.; Stacy King and Bryan Weaver, both of Warren, as well as 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Clarence "Buck" Weaver on Sept. 18, 1980; by her parents and her brother, Earhardt Strohm, Jr. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning at the Cardwell-Maloney Funeral Home in Port Orange, Fla. Memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1896 Rogers, Interlochen, Michigan 49643. The family was served locally by The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. SURPRISE, Ariz. - Gertrude E. Belleville, 88, of Surprise, Ariz., formerly of Traverse City, died on Friday at Sun City West, Ariz. She was born on July 15, 1913, in Blissfield. Gertrude was a homemaker. She was also a member of The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City and Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, Ariz. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Hartwig of Surprise, Ariz.; two sons, Douglas Belleville of Sun City West, Ariz. and Gary Belleville of Kalamazoo; one brother, Frank Saxton of Blissfield; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at 10 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City. Arrangements are being handled by the Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center in Arizona. JANE STEVENS, 65, of Grayling, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at home. She was born on Dec. 10, 1936, in Trenton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel in Grayling. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Grayling Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling. Arrangements are being handled by the Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel in Grayling. HELEN LAMPHEAR, 91, of Leland, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Munson Medical Center. Arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. GARY KEITH JIEISER, 44 of Fibre, formerly of Kingsley, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at home. Cremation has already taken place. Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening at the New Hope Church in Kincheloe at 6 p.m. ERNEST PAVLOVIC, 94, of Karlin, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, in Traverse City.
