ETHEL L. BROWN, 77, of Traverse City, passed away early Tuesday morning, Dec. 25, 2001, at Birchwood Nursing Center. Service arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home of Traverse City. MAX EDWARD HASLEM, 70, of Grayling, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Grayling. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel, in Grayling. MARIE MACQUARRIE, 88, of Mancelona, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Charlevoix Area Hospital. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in Mancelona. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. Arrangements by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in Mancelona. KENNETH J. OLSON, 90, of Traverse City, passed away on Monday afternoon, Dec. 24, 2001, at his home. Service arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home of Traverse City. DOUGLAS R. RICE, 91, of Benzonia, died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Munson Medical Center. Friends may call at The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home of Beulah on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at The First Congregational Church of Benzonia at 2 p.m. The Rev. Stephen J. Davidson and the Rev. Telfer Mook will officiate. Burial will be at The Joyfield Township Cemetery. MARGARET "MAGGIE" SPIERS, 73, of Traverse City, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2001. Arrangements are pending with the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home of Traverse City. Funeral services for BRUNO W. URYASZ will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Dec. 27, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Friends may call at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home today from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorials can be made to the St. Michael's Building Fund or Munson Hospice. KALKASKA - Nellie G. Wagenschutz-Bartholomew, 90, of Kalkaska, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. Nellie was born on July 14, 1911, in Kalkaska, the daughter of Alfred and Gertrude (Galloway) Priest. Nellie was a lifelong resident of Kalkaska. She married Clyde Wagenschutz and they had eight children together. Nellie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post #8684 in Kalkaska. Nellie is survived by her children, Bill (Anne) Wagenschutz, Lyle Wagenschutz, Norma (Henry) Van Hoye, all of Kalkaska, and Alice (Ken) Kelly of Stateline, Ind.; 21 grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Alan Seeley of Kalkaska. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde F. Wagenschutz in 1945; and children, Dale, Ronald, Alfred and Clyde. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, at Wolfe Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home with Dale Wells of Spencer Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Excelsior Township Cemetery.
