Graveside services for JOHN CLARENCE SAMUELSON, 94, who died June 1, 2001, will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City.
      Arrangements are being handled by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
     
      ANDREW J. YALCH, 93, of Honor, died Saturday morning at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital LTC.
      Arrangements are being handled by the Benzonia Chapel, McElduff Funeral Homes.
     
      CHARLAN JOYCE ULMAN, 50, of Traverse City, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Megge will officiate. Interment will be in the Edenville Township Cemetery.
     
      ROBERT W. FULLER, 62, of Mancelona, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at home. He was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Hudson.
      Memorial services will be held on Satruday, July 7, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the V.F.W. Hall in Pioneer, Ohio.
      Arrangements are being handled by the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
     
      HEMLOCK - Surrounded by his loving family, Warren peacefully entered his heavenly home on Saturday at Covenant-Cooper following a brief illness. He was 82.
      Warren was born May 11, 1919, in Hemlock, to the late Edwin and Margaret Watson. He resided in the family home his entire life. He married Ruth E. Schoof on Aug. 11, 1945; she predeceased him on Sept. 7, 2000.
      Surviving are two daughters and one son and their spouses, Nancy and Chuck Shimek of Mesick; Janet and Bill Kilgore of Thomas Township; Edwin and Pat Watson of Hemlock. His daughter, Betty Jo Kernstock predeceased him on Sept. 20, 2000. He also leaves his son-in-law, Harley Kernstock of Auburn; his grandchildren, Alicia and Ashley Kilgore, Kurt Watson, C.J. Shimek, Leslie and her husband, Ken Brady, Ondrea and her husband, Jason Brussee, two great-granddaughters, Taylor Kilgore and Erykha Jones; his sisters-in-law, Emily (Watson) Kennedy, Edie Schoof, Brother-in-law, Richard Erskine; brothers-in-law and their spouses, Donald and Gerry Schoof, Reuben and Margie Schoof, Frank and Alice Compeau; several nieces, nephews friends and neighbors.
      He was also predeceased by his twin brother, Weldon; three sisters and their husbands, Anna (Ralph) Fox, Jeanette (Gilbert) Davis and Vesta (Archie) Smith; his grandsons, Joshua Kilgore and Nathan Kernstock; his brother-in-law, Delbert Schoof; sister-in-law, Arlene Erskine; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois and Ernie Rant.
      Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Iva, 17927 Dice Road, Hemlock. Rev. Paul Hauser will officiate with burial in Richland Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, from 3 to 8 p.m. on both Sunday and Monday. They may then call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

      ALDEN - Geraldine H. Lockman, 83, of Alden, died on Friday at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.
      She was born on Nov. 7, 1917, in Detroit, to Joseph and Jeannie (Autharson) Hall. Following the death of her mother in 1922, she was adopted by her maternal aunt and uncle, Rose (Autharson) and John Dempsey of Alden.
      She attended grade school in Alden and graduated from St. Francis High School in Traverse City. After attending Antrim County Normal she earned a bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University, going on to do post graduate work in accounting and computers at Grand Rapids Junior College in Grand Rapids and Traverse City. In 1939, in Alden, Geraldine married Harvey C. Lockman, who preceded her in death in 1975. She retired as office manager of American Steel Lines in Grand Rapids in 1981, and returned to live in Alden. She served many years on the Helena Township Board, both as a trustee and as treasurer. Geraldine was active in the North Alden Ladies Club and held many offices in the local and state granges. She also volunteered many years with the United Way and the Antrim County Commission on Aging helping seniors with their income taxes. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire.
      Surviving are a son, Clifford (Vickey) Lockman of Alden; four daughters, Rosanne (Jack) Blesma of Elk Rapids, Sharon (Larry) Anderson of Casnovia, Janet (Larry) Rysztak of Alden and Judy (Eric Ring) Windish of Grand Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and her best friend, her cat, Max.
      Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes where a Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday evening. A Funeral Mass will be recited at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Dale Magoon as celebrant. Burial will be in the Helena Township Cemetery in Alden.
      Memorials in Geraldine's name may be directed to Antrim County Commission on Aging or to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.
     
      GRAND RAPIDS - Charles "Chuck" Haywood, 49, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday and went to be with his heavenly Father.
      He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Sarah Janelle; mother, Pearl Haywood of Rockford; brother, Percy (Esther) Haywood of Rockford; sisters, Mary Davis of Rockford, Patricia Brown of Cedar Springs, Helen (Jim) Allen of Wayland and Sheila (Rick) Hall of Howard City; father and mother-in-law, John and Tena Wulfsen of Hudsonville; sisters-in-law, Wilma Nyburg of Hudsonville, Glenda (Ken) Van Doeselaar of Jenison, Jolene (Jack) Emaus of Hudsonville; brothers-in-law, Jay (Barbara) Wulfsen of Grand Rapids and John Wulfsen of Dorr; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
      He was preceded in death by his father, William Ottis Haywood.
      The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road S.E., Grand Rapids, (616) 949-7350.
      Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Burr officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Memorial Park.
