DONOVAN SCROGGIE FOX, 85, of Traverse City, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. JANE M. FEDDER, 86, of Manistee, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Manistee County Medical Care Facility. She was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Manistee. Visitation will be held on Monday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee. Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Burial will be held in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Manistee following the mass. DENNIS L. HUNTLEY, 58, of Traverse City, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. at the Central United Methodist Church. Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. A full obituary will appear in Monday's edition of the Record-Eagle. DONALD D. NIXON, 79, of Traverse City, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at his home. Arrangements are pending at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. William Harger Boal Died July 27, 2001 FRANKFORT - William Harger Boal, 80, of Frankfort, died Friday afternoon at his home. Bill was born on Jan. 2, 1921, in Buda, Ill., the son of Dwight and Ruth (Harger) Boal. He had been a resident of Frankfort since 1951 moving from Glen Ellyn, Ill. He was the Plant Manager for both Frankfort Manufacturing and Pheoll, both in Frankfort, for 28 years, retiring in 1986. Bill served his country honorable during World War II with the U.S. Navy. Bill enjoyed anything having to do with nature, which was transformed into his love for his farm. He loved the time he spent with his grandchildren, traveling with his family and his many friends. On April 4, 1945, in Downers Grove, he married Jean Shoemaker, who survives. Bill is also survived by a son, Rev. Tim (Linda) Boal of Montague; a daughter, Jerry (Ray) Leinbach of Black Duck, Minn.; and four grandchildren, Bronwen, Harger, Kaleb and Gus. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Frankfort United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Boal officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider either the Frankfort United Methodist Church or Grand Traverse Area Hospice. The Frankfort Chapel, McElduff Funeral Home served the family. Cheryl (Kerby) Carpenter Died July 27, 2001 MT. PLEASANT - Cheryl (Kerby) Carpenter, 46, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Benzonia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. Cheryl was born on April 14, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Edwin and Marie (Lassen) Kerby. She was a graduate of Benzie Central High School and attended college to become a para legal. Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Kendra of Traverse City; and a son, Adam living at home; her husband, Kenneth of Port Huron; her three brothers, Gene (Beth) of Beulah, Fred (Dorothy) of Benzonia and Wayne of Mt. Pleasant; six sisters, Darlene (Bryce) Gray of Honor, Shirley (Marvin) Young of Mt. Pleasant, Barbara (Larry) West of Empire, Maria (Jack) Shippey of St. Johns, Debra (Dennis) Keitzman of Jackson and Kimberly (Scott) Mead of Sparta; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Travis Wayne Carpenter; and a brother, Thomas. Services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Benzonia Chapel, McElduff Funeral Homes with Robert Bodell Evangelist, officiating. Interment will follow at Gilmore Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Cheryl's family. |
