June 10, 2001ObituariesHARRISON - Kathleen F. Sartori, 80, of Harrison, formerly of the Saline area, passed away on Sunday at the Mid Michigan Medical Center in Clare.Kathleen was born the daughter of Albine and Amelia (Carlson) Anderson, on Feb. 25, 1921, in Northport. Kathleen had lived in the Northport area, where her father was a commercial fisherman, before moving to the Ann Arbor area during World War II to work to support the war effort. She met and married her husband, John Sartori, after the war and moved to the Saline area. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1983. John had served in World War II and had belonged to the American Legion Post #1 in Paris, France. Kathleen was very proud of the fact that she had worked for over 30 years at the N.S.K. Hoover Bearing Manufacturing Division in Ann Arbor. Kathleen was a Committee Person Representative for the Union. She was a strong activist for workers rights. On numerous occasions she put the needs of the workers above her own. Kathleen retired at age 62. After her husband John's death, she moved to Harrison in 1985. Kathleen was on numerous bowling leagues, and won many trophies for her bowling abilities. Throughout all of Kathleen's many activities she was still able to be a homemaker while working full time. Kathleen is survived by her son, Dennis (Evelyn) Sartori of Plainfield, Ill.; a sister, Margaret "Peg" Verreau; and a grandson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In keeping with Kathleen's final wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Luncheon is being planned at the American Legion Post in Saline, on July 7, from noon to 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Cremation was arranged by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc. of Clare. LIVONIA - Andrew M. Perrault, 28, of Livonia, died on Thursday in Livonia. He was born April 6, 1973, in Northport, the son of Alvin and Esther (Krueger) Perrault of Suttons Bay. Andrew was an Electrical Engineer with Panasonic for the past 3 years. He grew up in Suttons Bay and graduated from Suttons Bay High School in 1991. He also graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1996. He enjoyed photography and hockey. Andrew had a newspaper route in Suttons Bay and while in High School he worked at Jon's Barbershop. He is survived by his parents; four brothers, Stephen of Ypsilanti, Paul and James, both of Nampa, Idaho, and Aaron of Ferndale; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Albert (Margaret) Krueger; girlfriend, Rita Freeman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, The Rev. Albert Krueger; paternal grandparents, William and Della Perrault; and four aunts and uncles, Madaline (Krueger) Green, Alice Van Horn, Viola Bardenhagen and Vernon Perrault. Friends may call at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday at 11 a.m. until time of service. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Leland, with Rev. Lawrence K. Matro officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been handled by the Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay. HOWELL - Rodetta Anna Michels, 85, of Howell, died on Wednesday at home. She was born on June 23, 1914, in Hannah, the daughter of Chris and Mary (Kummer) Weber. On Feb. 13, 1933, in Hannah, she married Clarence W. Michels, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1998. Rodetta was a nurses aide at Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Traverse City, Hannah St. Mary's in Hannah, Hannah Alter Society and a volunteer at Munson Medical Center. She is survived by her daughter, Camilla Howitt of Howell; foster daughters, Sandra Waukazoo of Suttons Bay and Peggy Hardley of Ann Arbor; a brother, William Weber of Kingsley; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her daughter, Eileen Bissland in 1990; four sisters; and four brothers. Family received friends at Bell-Borek Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel in Howell. Visitation will be held today at Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church in Hannah on Monday at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Livingston Community Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home. RAYMOND NEUMANN, 77, of Traverse City, died at home on Saturday, June 9, 2001. Private family services will be held at a later date. Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home is serving the family. H. GLENN PURVIS, 73, of Traverse City, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Munson Medical Center. Visitation will be held Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a Scripture Service being held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Gardiner officiating. A full obituary will appear in the next edition of the Record-Eagle. MARY M. DARLING, 85, of Traverse City, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at home. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home is serving the family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bradley Will officiating. Interment will be in the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. |
