HARRINGTON, 25, of Maple City, died on Saturday, March 19, 2001, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.Arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. MARLA J. HOSLER, 46, of Kalkaska, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at her residence. She was born on Nov. 23, 1954, in Tacoma, Wash. Visitation will be at the time of services. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Alden United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been handled by the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. BARBARA JOAN DION, 70, of Rapid City, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at home. She was born on July 4, 1930, in Flint. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Peoples Church in Kalkaska. Arrangements have been handled by the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. GEORGE E. BAUMGARDNER, 76, of Gaylord, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at McReynolds Hall in Gaylord. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. at Hayes Township Cemetery, Otsego County. Arrangements by the Penzien Funeral Homes, inc. in Mancelona. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for HAROLD P. GRAY, who died May 15, 2001. TRAVERSE CITY - Evelyn Emily Whitmer, 83, of Traverse City since 1960, died on Friday. She was born on Aug. 3, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Frances (Gable) Bradek. On April 20, 1963, in Traverse City, she married Jeoffrey Whitmer. Evelyn worked with computers at United Tech for 7 or 8 years, and at Setwell Company for 25 years. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, was both president and treasurer, and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, was president and vice president. She was also a member of Eagles Auxiliary. Evelyn enjoyed bowling for the VFW Mixed League. She was a member of Cootiette Club and was Grand Graybeck of the club. She did lots of volunteer work for the VFW. She is survived by one daughter, Margaret (Donald) Walisiak of Mountain Home, Ark.; two brothers, Clarence Bradek of Waukegon, Ill. and Edwin Bradek of Des Moines, Wash; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Private family services have been held. Arrangements have been handled by the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. GLADYS E. JOHNSON Died March 3, 2001. Memorial services for Mrs.. Johnson will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26 2001, from Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Zimmerman officiating. INTERLOCHEN - William Foster Husted, 87, of Interlochen, passed away on Wednesday at Birchwood Nursing Center of Traverse City after an extended illness. He was born on Dec. 6, 1913, in Battle Creek, the older son of William and Magretta P. (Hobbs) Husted. He attended Battle Creek Public Schools, graduating in 1932, and then attended Battle Creek College for three years. He joined the Battle Creek Fire Department in 1938 and retired in 1970 with the rank of Captain. He was director and chief forecaster of Battle Creek Flood Warning Station, renamed Municipal Weather Station, from 1947 to 1960. Besides working for the Fire Department, he was employed for nine years by The Battle Creek Enquirer as a city carrier and rural truck driver. In 1939, he married the former Mabel L. Schott and to this union were born two sons and one daughter, William R. Husted of Kingsley, John D. Husted of Interlochen and Marilyn F. Husted, who was killed in a traffic accident in 1981. Following the death of Mabel in 1968, he married Helen S. Halm in 1969 and they moved to Inland Township in Benzie County in 1970. Helen passed away in 1983. In addition to the children of his first marriage, he is survived by two stepdaughters, Mary L. Brill (John A.) Cork of Sault Ste. Marie and Lucille (George) Fisher of Muskegon; also four step-sons, Steven (Kathy) Halm of Grand Rapids, David Halm of Saginaw, Mark Halm of California and Laurence Halm of Tampa, Fla. There are also 19 step-grandchildren. Other survivors include a nephew, James Husted; a niece, Jacque of Valparaiso, Ind.; and many cousins in Canada. Funeral services for Mr. Husted will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home of Beulah. Pastor Bruce VanDussen will officiate and burial will follow in Inland Township Cemetery in Interlochen. The family will meet friends at the funeral home on Monday at noon until time of services.
