Obituaries

T. KEVIN GLYNN, 75, of Traverse City, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at home.
      Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
      Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery in Traverse City.
      A full obituary will appear in the Monday edition of the Record Eagle.
     
      NATHALENE FELLOWS, 81, of Logan, Utah, formerly of Traverse City, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in Logan, Utah.
      Services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Veterans Dr. in Traverse City. Friends may begin calling at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Harrietta following the service.
      Local arrangements are being handled by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
     
      JOSEPH GREGORY SWANIC, 45, of Grayling, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, in Grayling. He was born Nov. 13, 1955, in Detroit.
      Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel in Grayling. A memorial service will be held on Monday at noon at the funeral home.
     
      TRAVERSE CITY - James "Jim" L. Clous, 67, of Traverse City, died unexpectedly at home Thursday morning after an extended illness.
      Born on Jan. 1, 1934, he was the son of George and Clara (Wurm) Clous and lived his entire life in Traverse City.
      During his life Jim was employed at Bayshore Meat Packing, Purvis Brothers Welding, Jacklin Steel and Brown Lumber Company. After ill health forced him to retire, he enjoyed working part-time at Prevo's Market for a few years.
      Jim was an avid Tiger baseball and NASCAR racing fan, enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, mechanical work, watching "Emeril" on television and loved country music, especially when his good friends, "Joe", "Dutch" and "Johnny Reb" came to visit during his illness and held jam sessions for him. He also enjoyed playing board games with his friend Dave during his many visits. He was a loving father and grandfather and very thankful to his children for their attentive care during the last four months of his illness.
      Survivors include a son, Steven (Kathi) Clous of Traverse City; daughters, Therese Clous of Kingsley, Ann Prause and friend Greg McFalls of Traverse City; grandchildren, Paul Nash, Courtney and Kimberly Clous, Ashley and Michael Edge, Allen Prause; and one great-grandchild, Abigail Nash; his first wife and friend, Mary (Titus) Czubak; brothers, Russell (Frances) Clous and Fred Clous; sisters, Ann Bellows and Marjorie (Robert) Ockert; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and long-time friends, Larry and Marcia Titus.
      He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Kazon and brother-in-law, Robert Bellows.
      Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City, with Rev. Fr. James Gardiner officiating. Friends may gather at the church one hour prior to the mass for visitation. A luncheon will be served in the Parish Hall immediately following interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
      The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Father Fred Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the church.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
