WALTER L. HARRINGTON, 67, of Interlochen, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at his home.
      Arrangements are pending with the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
     
      JAMES F. MAY, 65, formerly of Traverse City, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002.
      Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 7 p.m.

      TRAVERSE CITY - Ellen J. Rosenburg, 60, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Munson Medical Center.
      She was born April 21, 1942, to Arthur and Janet (Wiesler) Vidro. Ellen married Fred J. Rosenburg on June 2, 1962, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City.
      Ellen was employed with Sara Lee in Traverse City. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Ellen did volunteer work at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Camp Roy-El and the Marian Peace Center. She also made rosaries and traveled on pilgrimages. Ellen enjoyed flowers, reading, crocheting and putting her family's photographs into albums. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.
      Ellen is survived by her husband of 40 years, Fred J. Rosenburg of Traverse City; her four sons, Bill (Suzanne) of Ionia, Ed (Debbie) of Morrice, Dan (Tamie) of Interlochen and Rich (Susie) of Cadillac; four grandchildren, Andrew, Jarret, Emmaline and Atlas; three sisters, Irene (Jerry) Wittkoski, Gayle (Michael) Lewis and Alice (Larry) Misiewicz; four sisters-in-law, Doris (Kenny) Tobias, Amanda (Tom) Pouzar, Rita (Jim) Tilley and Bethel (Ray) Purvis; brother-in-law, Ed Pouzar; special nephew, Myron (Lisa) Lewis of Harbor Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; one son in infancy, David Rosenburg; and her grandson, Joey.
      Visitation will take place today at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Grawn from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m.
      Mass from the Order of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at the church with the Rev. Jerry Miketti serving as celebrant. Entombment will be in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Marian Peace Center or the Carmelite Monastery.

      MONUMENT, Colo. - Ann Marie Lardie, 92, died in Monument, Colo., on Nov. 24, 2002.
      Ann was born near Munising, on May 17, 1910, and lived in Michigan for most of her life. Ann was raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and was very proud of her Finnish heritage. She spoke Finnish until she started school where she learned to speak English. Education was always very important to her. Ann moved to Detroit and received a diploma in registered nursing from Grace Hospital. Ann was married on Feb. 14, 1942, to Anthony Lardie who preceded her in death.
      Ann held a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University. She was a public health nurse from 1935 to 1947 and also worked for The Michigan League for Nursing as nursing coordinator from 1960 to 1972. She taught health career classes for Wayne Community College from 1972 to 1974.
      After she retired in 1979 she moved to Traverse City. She lived there until her move to Colorado in May of 2001, to be close to her family. She loved Traverse City and we often said she should be on its chamber of commerce. When in her 80s, she would walk downtown several times a week to shop and do her banking.
      Ann is survived by her son, Henry (Dorothy) Lardie of Monument, Colo., and her daughter, Susan (David) Smith of Black Forest, Colo.; four grandchildren: Tony Lardie and Hillary Lardie of Monument, Colo., Chris (Anjelica) Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jeremy (Sara) Smith of State College, Pa.; and by many nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by four brothers Tom, Charles, Eero and Ray Niemi; and by two sisters, Ella Niemi and Aune Matson.
      A memorial service celebrating her life was held Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Pinecrest Chapel in Palmer Lake, Colo. Anna's ashes will be buried in Mapleton Cemetery on Old Mission Peninsula on June 21, 2003.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
     
      TRAVERSE CITY - Hilda E. Habedank, 87, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002.
      She was born Sept. 14, 1915, in Kenyon, Minn., to Helmer and Christina (Nislund) Ostun. On Nov. 14, 1931, Hilda married Alfred Habedank in Fertile, Minn. She made her home in Flint until 1968, when she moved to Traverse City. Hilda was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and had a great appreciation for her family and friends.
      Hilda is survived by her daughter, Shirley (William Scott) Hamilton of Sevierville, Tenn., and her three sons, Duane Habedank of Mt. Morris, Dennis (Nancy) Habedank of Traverse City and Calvin (Pam) Habedank of Placerville, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, including granddaughter Susan (Bob Tenbusch) Habedank, and 22 great-grandchildren; her sister, Val Burslie of Fertile, Minn.; and daughters-in-law Marjorie Habedank of Karlin and Beverly Habedank of Flushing; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred in 1971; two sons, Allan and Gene Habedank; three brothers, Alfred, Henry and Bill Ostun; and three sisters, Mildred Roragen, Agnes Camelot and Signey Walter.
      Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.

      TRAVERSE CITY - Helen A. Burnett, 87, of Traverse City and formerly of Kingsley, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Munson Medical Center.
      She was born Aug. 29, 1915, in St. Paul, Minn., to Samuel and Elizabeth (Millim) Yomant. Helen married Alexander "Alex" Burnett.
      Helen was employed as a housekeeper for Munson Medical Center and also the Park Place Hotel. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Senior Companion Program, the Grange, the Good Neighbor Club and the Ladies Aid in Summit City. Helen enjoyed crafts and loved to cook and bake. She was very generous and loved her family and grandchildren.
      Helen is survived by her three daughters, Marjorie (Jack) Steinebach of Buckley, Carolyn Teall of Buckley and Eldora (Evart) Crain of Sweet Water, Tenn.; her son, George (Rebecca) Burnett of Summit City; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; her brother, George Yoman of Aurora, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alex in 1973; two brothers, Joe Yeoman and John Weber; and one sister, Elizabeth Roberts.
      The family will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the home of her daughter, Marjorie Steinebach, 4600 Elliott Road, in Buckley, to celebrate Helen's life.
      Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring of 2003.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to the Senior Companion Program in Traverse City.

      TRAVERSE CITY - Elizabeth T. Bailey, 92, of Traverse City and formerly of Brethren, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at the Kalkaska Memorial Hospital.
      She was born May 26, 1910, in Brethren, the daughter of the late Ben and Mary (Judson) Theadore. Elizabeth married Peter Bailey Sr. in 1928. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1969. She later married Nicholas Bailey on Oct. 10, 1970, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Irons. He preceded Elizabeth in death on Sept. 13, 1983.
      Two of her favorite past times were making baskets and doing bead work. While living in the Manistee County area, Elizabeth was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Irons. She was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and a former member of the Northern Michigan Ottawa Association that had worked towards getting federal recognition for her tribe.
      Elizabeth is survived by four sons, Robert (Carol) Bailey of Severna Park, Md., Gerald Bailey of Poulsbo, Wash., John Bailey of Manistee and Richard (Karen) Bailey of Traverse City; three daughters, Regina Forbes of Traverse City, Vivian Barrett of Glen Burney, Md., and Betty (Ray) Krick of Linchicum, Md.; three stepsons, Wayne (Sue) Bailey of Branch, Leroy (Evelyn) Bailey of Baldwin and Nicholas (Brenda) Bailey Jr. of Kaleva; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; 27 stepgrandchildren and numerous stepgreat-grandchildren; her sister, Alice Ness of Flint; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      In addition to her two husbands, Elizabeth was preceded in death by two sons, Peter Bailey Jr. and Carl Bailey; two daughters, Margaret Chandler and Charlene Bailey; stepdaughter, Alice Brunk; and her sister, Stella Theadore.
      Visitation will be held today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, where an Evening Prayer service from the Order of Christian Funerals will be prayed at 8:30 p.m.
      Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with the Rev. William Zwiefka serving as celebrant. Burial will be in the Corfu Cemetery in Brethren in the spring of 2003.
