Memorial services will be held in Iola, Wis. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Oak Grove Cremation Center. CLARENCE R. 'DICK' PATTON, 71, of Echo Township, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Charlevoix Area Hospital. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home. LUCILLE STEED, 91, of Interlochen, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 19. A complete obituary will appear in Tuesday's Record-Eagle. WILLIAM 'BILL' PAUL WATKOSKI, 60, of Traverse City, died early Sunday morning, Dec. 15, 2002, at Munson Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. TRAVERSE CITY - Carl Lyon, 91, of Traverse City died Saturday Dec. 14, 2002. Born in 1911, in Leelanau County to Norinne and Earl Lyon, Carl was the oldest of seven children. He grew up on a farm in Williamsburg. Carl was a hard worker all his life. He taught school in Glen Arbor, worked as a gunsmith and retired as a nursing attendant from the Traverse City State Hospital. After retiring Carl was never idle. He created pine needle baskets, and taught his silversmithing and lapidary skills at Goodlife Trailer Park during winters spent in Mesa, Ariz. Carl was an avid reader of National Geographic magazine and western novels. Carl is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vona (Dumbrille) Lyon; his daughter Yvonne Berger; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest brother. He was dearly loved and will be missed. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. SEBRING, Fla. - Helen (Olsen) Williams, 78, of Frankfort, passed away unexpectedly at her winter home in Sebring, Fla., on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002. She is survived by sons, Michael (Laura), Craig (Jonell) and Robin (AnMaree); grandchildren Laura, Michael (Julie), Jason, Corey (Paula), Adam, Bradley, Andrew and RobAn; one great-grandchild, Joshua; a very special niece, Sandra Olsen; and many other loving nieces and nephews. Her husband, George, preceded her in death. A private graveside service will be held on Dec. 18 in Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice. RENO, Nev. - Scott M. McNally, 46, formerly of Flushing, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, in Reno, Nev. Scott was born in Flint, on April 4, 1956, the son of Richard F. and Shirley (Minter) McNally. He graduated from Valley School of Flint in 1974. A professional musician and songwriter, Scott attended Mott Adult Education and also received music education in Sausalito, Calif. He graduated from cosmetology school in Seattle, Wash. Scott's generosity and caring spirit were reflected in his music and poetry. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Shirley McNally of Williamsburg; sister, Kathryn J. McNally of Montague, Mass., and brother, Richard F. (Christine A.) McNally Jr. of Flint; niece and nephew, Caitlin C. and Franklin T. McNally of Flint; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E. Main St., in Flushing. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 704 E. Main St., Flushing. The Rev. David Kulchar will officiate. Burial will follow in Flushing Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Valley School, 1505 W. Court St., Flint, MI 48503.
