Roger A. Cazel
      Died December 15, 2002
      KALKASKA - Roger A. Cazel, 55, of Kalkaska, passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, surrounded by his family.
      He was born on Aug. 19, 1947, in Olney, Ill., the son of Denzel and Norma (Burgener) Cazel. Roger married Julie Brandon on Aug. 26, 2000.
      Roger had been a resident of Kalkaska since moving from Richmond, Mich., in 1976. He was employed by Consumers Energy for 35 years. Roger was the secretary-treasurer of the Kalkaska Station #7 Fire Department for 25 years, a member of the Moose Lodge of Kalkaska, American Military League of Traverse City, Kalkaska Sports Boosters, secretary-treasurer of Twin Birch Men's Golf League and was actively involved in community service projects.
      Roger will be mourned by his family, including his wife, Julie; his daughters, Jennifer (Layne) Weeks of Bellaire, Andrea (Brian) Berger of Kalkaska and Melissa Cazel of Livonia; his stepdaughter, Jessica Miller of Rapid City; his grandchildren, Hannah Weeks of Bellaire, Abbigail Cazel and Bradley Berger, both of Kalkaska; his mother, Norma Cazel of Richmond; his sisters, Linda Sartin of Kentucky and Kathy (Ed) Newsome of Richmond; his brother Gerald (Sandy) Cazel of Memphis, Mich.; and dear friends, Dick and Toots Burkhart of Kalkaska.
      He was preceded in death by his father, Denzel; and his grandson, Joshua Cazel on Sept. 4, 1996.
      Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home.
      The funeral service will be on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Interment at Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
      Memorials may be made in behalf of Roger Cazel to local organizations of the donor's choice.
      Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home of Kalkaska.
      **FLAG** Jimmy Lee Mangrum
      Died December 9, 2002
      TRAVERSE CITY - Jimmy Lee Mangrum, 53, of Traverse City and formerly of Livonia, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at University of Michigan Hospital, losing his battle with leukemia.
      Jimmy was born Sept. 14, 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War from 1971 to 1972. He had been a resident of Traverse City for the past seven years, and was self-employed.
      He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deborah; his daughter, Jamie (Calvin) Houghton of Interlochen and his son, Jeffrey of Plymouth; his parents, Hillard and Marjorie of Mesick; grandchildren, Kasey, Jonathon and Nathan; his sisters, Mary Santiago, Nancy Geary and Marlee Kaczmarek; and his brother, Gary.
      He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
      A memorial service will be held, Saturday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1023 S. Division at 14th St., Traverse City.
      Michael Isaac Penny
      Died December 16, 2002
      TRAVERSE CITY - Michael Isaac Penny went into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, shortly after entering this world at Munson Medical Center.
      Michael was the little angel of Kevin Michael Penny and Tina Buchner; brother, Jonathon; paternal grandparents, Dale and Sharon Penny of Empire; maternal grandparents, Dan and Chris Walsworth of Muskegon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
      A memorial service will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at 1 p.m.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to the March of Dimes.
      SYLVIA M. LEHR, 91, of Maple City, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at her home.
      Arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
     
      NORMA JEAN MOSLEY, 79, of Thompsonville, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at The Maples-Benzie County Medical Care Facility in Frankfort.
      No visitation or services are planned. Cremation will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
