Kruger, 69, of Cadillac, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac.Cecil was born in Cadillac on Sept. 5, 1932, the son of Ernest and Violet (Delaney) Kruger. He had lived all his life in Cadillac. He graduated from Cadillac High School in 1950. Cecil served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On April 15, 1953, he married Carole M. Long at Camp Atterbury, Ind. He worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 33 years, retiring in 1984. Cecil sold real estate for over 10 years for Century 21, BOZ, and Greater North Real Estate. Cecil was a member of American Legion Post #94 of Cadillac and the Moose Lodge of Cadillac. He was a lifetime member of the Inland Lakes Chapter of the DAV and Amvets Post #110 of Cadillac. Cecil enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid deer hunter. He loved traveling and being in the outdoors. Cecil is survived by his wife, Carole Kruger of Cadillac; his son, William Lawrence (Marie) Kruger of Cadillac; his daughter, Susan Kruger of Albion; his granddaughter, Jody Kruger and her fiancé, J.D. Munson; his sisters, V. June Roberts and Dorothy Belaire, both of Belleville; and his special foster niece, Nadine (Lenny) Fuentes of Cadillac. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; his foster parents, Lawrence and Kitty Farnam; his brothers, Frank, Dwight, Oran and Kenneth; his sister, Erna LaMotha; foster sisters, Rose Lamb, Alice Leach and Jennie Oatley; and foster brother, David Farnam. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Peterson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home, with Father Arthur F. Duchnowicz officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Township Cemetery in Wexford County. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice, or to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Arrangements by the Peterson Funeral Home, Inc. in Cadillac. GEORGIANA HERALD, 64, of Charlevoix, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. FRANCIS A. POWERS, 78, of Kaleva, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Tendercare of Manistee. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home, with Father Richard Kosterman as celebrant. The Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva is in charge of arrangements. |
