FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Thomas L. Miller, 67, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at his home.
      Tom was born in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a member of the U.S. Army reserves in Fort Wayne, Ind. in the advanced marksman unit and was an expert sharp-shooter and instructor.
      He was the business manager with the M.J. Miller Company for 10 years, and was also formerly employed with Mobile Aeriel Towers as the vice president for 20 years. Tom was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
      Tom is survived by his companion, Carolyn Bergel-Whearley of Fort Wayne, Ind.; his son, Martin J. and two daughters, Amy Rose and Laura Miller, all of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; his brother, James of Fort Wayne, and his sister, Marilyn Maher of Huntington, Ind.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. and Florence (Maybee) Miller.
      Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 1100 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to Alaskan Shepherd, 14312 Peger Rd., Fairbanks, AK 99709-5199, The Piarist School, Hwy. 80 Box 870, Martan, KY 41649, or to Parkview Home Health and Hospice.

      Thomas was a loving father, grandfather and companion.
     
      MIDLAND - Thomas B. Jolliffe, 58, of Midland, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at his residence.
      He was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Corunna, the son of the late Wesley S. and Margaret (Aaredema) Jolliffe. Thomas served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On Aug. 3, 1968, he married the former JoAnn M. Spens in Memphis, Mich.
      Thomas was employed as an engineer with CSX Railroad and was on the operation life saver safety committee at work. He was a member of the Optimist Club and the Red Block Committee. Thomas enjoyed woodworking and boating, and was a member of the Shade Tree Gang made up of his boating friends. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and was a great story teller.
      Thomas is survived by his wife of 34 years, JoAnn of Midland; his son, Christopher Jolliffe and his future fiancée, Shelly Taberski both of Traverse City, and his daughter, Jacqueline J. (Christopher) Nelson of Evanston, Ill.; his sister, Jan (Clark) Marengo of Rochester Hills; and many nieces and nephews.
      Friends may call at the Wilson Miller Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. in Midland on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and will continue Monday, Dec. 2, one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Saylor of Living Word Church officiating. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the Midland Area Veterans. Cremation will follow the services.

      RAPID CITY - June E. Masel, 87, of Rapid City and longtime resident of Torch Lake, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
      She was born Feb. 13, 1915, in Huefner, Pa., to Howard and Bernice (Baker) Ehler. June married Fredrick "Fritz" Masel Aug. 31, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio.
      June was a registered nurse by profession and was employed by the Toledo Hospital. She had many and varied interests and loved people, golfing, fishing, traveling and eating out.
      June is survived by her daughter, Judith (Robert) Johnstone of Laingsburg.
      She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings; and her husband, Fritz.
      Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
      Visitation will continue in Toledo, Ohio, on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio, with the Rev. Jerry Craig officiating.
      The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
     
      INTERLOCHEN - Michael Clark Deemer, 45, of Interlochen, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at The Maples in Frankfort following a long illness.
      He was born Nov. 2, 1957, in Frankfort, to Bernard and Norma (Johnson) Deemer. Michael attended Benzie Central High School, graduating in 1975. Michael married Barbara Joyce Hall in 1980 at the Long Lake Friends Church in Traverse City.
      Together, Michael and Barbara owned and operated Deemer's Wood Products, making wood pallets for 20 years. His favorite hobby was rebuilding and restoring antique cars, including the 1973 Mustang Mach I he owned.
      Michael is survived by his wife, Barbara of Interlochen; four children, Erin, Erik, Emilee and Evan; two grandchildren, Alex and Jaren, all living at home; his parents, Bernard and Norma Deemer; his brother, Ben (Lois) Deemer; his sister, Pat (Ken) Culp of Reed City; and five nephews, Jason Culp, Jeremy Culp, Matthew Deemer, Paul Deemer and Jaymie Deemer.
      According to his wishes, donations for medical research have been made and cremation has taken place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
      Memorial services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Woodside Wesleyan Church in Lake Ann, with the Rev. Neil Mowat officiating. The family will be available at the church to meet with friends from noon until the time of the services today.
      The family requests that all memorial contributions be directed to Michael's children.
      The family is being served by the Oak Grove Cremation Center in Manistee.
     
      ANTHONY 'TONY' BOOMER, 34, of Traverse City, died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002.
      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
     
      LYLE E. JOHNSON, 81, of Grayling, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
      Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel in Grayling.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Grayling.
