August 11, 2003ObituariesEVELYN JANE FELICE, 71, of Livonia, died Aug. 9, 2003, at Angela Hospice Center in Livonia.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Peshawbestown, where friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Kateri Tekakwitha Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay. PAT (ANNA RUTH) FOWLER, 83, of Northport, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at Leelanau Memorial Health Center. Visitation will take place Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Church in Northport. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the church. Burial will be in Omena Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay. DONNA L. HARGREAVES, 84, of Buckley, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in Traverse City. A complete obituary is forthcoming. Arrangements are pending at Covell-Smith Funeral Home, Kingsley. Dorothy Marie Freed Died August 8, 2003 TRAVERSE CITY - Dorothy Marie Freed, 93, of Traverse City, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Birchwood Nursing Center. She was born June 6, 1910, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of George Edward and Hilda Marie (Carl) Tubbs. Dorothy attended Hillsdale College and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma fraternity for over 70 years. A member of Grace Episcopal Church in Traverse City, she sang in the choir and was treasurer of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the "Brunch Bunch," an after-church lunch group. Dorothy and her husband, Ferris O. Freed, owned and operated an ice cream parlor and later a gift shop in Traverse City for a number of years. Ferris preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1989. Dorothy was gracious and sweet and enjoyed meeting with friends on holidays and special occasions. Despite her tendency to be reserved in groups of people, Dorothy had a puckish sense of humor which she shared with close friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Louise Kountze officiating. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hillsdale College, or Grace Episcopal Church Building Fund. | ||||
