      LEWELLA JUNE (BATT) BEIA of Yuma died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at a family home in Traverse City.
      A full obituary with service details will be in the Wednesday edition of the Record-Eagle.
      Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home is serving the family.
     
      PHILIP WESLEY CAMPBELL, 21, of Kalkaska, died at home Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003.
      Visitation will take place Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
      A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at St. Mary of the Woods Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
      Wolfe Funeral Home of Kalkaska is in charge of arrangements.
     
      PASTOR LeROY L. PAUL, 68, of Mancelona, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at his home.
      Visitation will take place Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mancelona.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the church. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
      Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
     
      WALTER J. 'WALT' SATTLER, 72, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at his Torch Lake home.
      Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids, with evening prayers at 7 p.m.
      Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the church, with Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski as celebrant.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.

      Lillian E. Hartz
      Died December 3, 2003
      TRAVERSE CITY - Lillian E. Hartz, 90, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at French Manor.
      Lillian was born Nov. 3, 1913, the daughter of Jacob and Nellie (Strelbitsky) Hartz.
      A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev. Michael Janowski as celebrant. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Homes.

      Nethla E. Fuksa
      Died December 6, 2003
      BEULAH - Nethla Ermina Worden Fuksa, 88, of Beulah, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at The Maples–Benzie County Medical Care Facility in Frankfort.
      She was born Aug. 25, 1915, in Honor, the daughter of George and Courtenay (Stafford) Worden.
      Nethla had retired from Setwell in Traverse City, and later made calls for Helpline in Beulah.
      Nethla is survived by her son, Robert Fuksa of Beulah; her daughter, Marsha LaTour of Beulah; three grandchildren, Allison LaTour, Joseph Fuksa and Janet Becker; her great-granddaughter, Kristi Fuksa; two sisters, Jean Kaplan of Caro and Virginia Richey of Honor; two brothers, Derryl Worden of Honor and Arland Worden of Honor; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
      Nethla was preceded in death by August "Gus" Fuksa; her parents; her daughter-in-law, Lois Fuksa; her son-in-law, Gerald LaTour; four sisters, Arlene Martin, Winnie Heischman, Joyce Sorna and Janice Hanrath; and a brother, Wendell Worden.
      Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, at Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
      Memorial contributions may be made to The Maples–Patio Fund.
      The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of The Maples for their outstanding care, love and support.

      Hazel Fay Parrotte
      Died December 7, 2003
      BEULAH - Hazel Fay Parrotte, 83, of Beulah, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at The Maples–Benzie County Medical Care Facility in Frankfort.
      She was born May 25, 1920, the daughter of Clayton and Mildred (Dingman) Bekkering. Hazel and her husband, Otto, moved to Benzie County in the early 1970s from Grand Rapids.
      Hazel loved the Lord, and taught her children to be good Christians. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, making ceramics, knitting, crocheting, working on jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and playing bingo. Most of all, Hazel loved spending time with her family.
      Hazel is survived by four children, Jack (Shirley) Parrotte of Beulah, David (Vicki) Parrotte of Grand Rapids, Larry (Ceile) Parrotte of Beulah and Tammie (and friend, Jeff Lautner) Ransom of Lake Ann; her daughter-in-law, Rita Parrotte of Beulah; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      On June 28, 1941, in Grand Rapids, Hazel married Otto H. Parrotte, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Lou; two sons, Scott and Mark; a grandson, Zachary; her brothers, William and Louis; and her sisters, Betty, MaryLou and Judy.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Robert E. Bodell, Evangelist, officiating. Interment will be in the Benzonia Township Cemetery.
      Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
      Memorial contributions may be made to The Maples. Envelopes are available at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home.
     
      KALKASKA - Reginald B. "Regg" Mullennix, 71, of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 5, 2003.
      Born on Aug. 23, 1932, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Harold and Madeline (Warner) Mullennix.
      Regg was a resident of Kalkaska since 1995 and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed mountain biking, working out, carpentry, motorcycling and traveling.
      Regg is survived by his wife, Janet; his son, Reginald (Diane) Mullennix of California; his stepdaughters, Kristine (Kirt) Stout of Indiana and Victoria Peterson of Kalkaska; his grandchildren, Linda and Charles Mullennix; many stepgrandchildren; many great stepgrandchildren; his brothers, Vern (Mary) Mullennix, Charles (Marcia) Mullennix, all of Kentucky, and Edward (Joanne) Mullennix of Indiana.
      Regg was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Sparpana; and his granddaughter, Danyel Sparpana.
      A memorial service was held on Monday, Dec. 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska. The Rev. Ted Turanski officiated.
      Memorials may be given in behalf of Regg Mullennix to any hospice of your choice. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.

      SUWANEE, Ga. - Rense Henry Joldersma, 76, of Suwanee, Ga., formerly of Traverse City, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 7, 2003.
      He served proudly in World War II and Korea.
      Mr. Joldersma is survived by his wife, JoAnne Joldersma; sister, Margarie Michael; children, Michael, Lori, Doug and Nancy; and seven grandchildren.
      No services will be held. Arrange-ments were handled by Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth Chapel.

      LELAND - Jean H. Watkins, 77, of Leland, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 5, 2003.
      She was born on March 9, 1926, in Detroit, to Louis B. Hyde and Ethel Robinson Hyde. On Feb. 18, 1950, she married John B. Watkins in Grosse Pointe Farms.
      Jean graduated from Detroit's Northern High School in 1944, and in 1948, received a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan.
      Jean was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, and was an active volunteer with the Junior League of Detroit. She was the president of the Colonial Dames of America in the state of Michigan, and served as national parliamentarian for the Dames for six years. In 1988, she was elected national president of the 16,000 member organization, retiring as honorary president in 1994.
      In Leland, she started the Marathon Bridge Group in 1977, and, with her husband, was a founding member of ShareCare of Leelanau, as well as a ShareCare volunteer. She also volunteered in the Leland Public School in various ways. She has served as president of the Leelanau Township Library Board since 1986, as president and longtime member of the Little Garden Club. She was also a member of several genealogical societies and the Leland Country Club, where she was an active golfer.
      She is survived by her husband and three sons, Warren (Ann), John Jr. (Shelley) and David (Maureen); seven grandchildren; and by her two sisters, Mrs. Robert G. Swanson and Barbara D. Hyde.
      A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at the Leland Community United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joseph Graybill and Bishop Raymond Heine officiating. A reception will follow at the Leland Lodge.
      Memorials may be made to the Leland Township Library, ShareCare of Leelanau, the Leelanau Conservancy, or an organization of your choice.
      Arrangements have been handled by Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay.

      TRAVERSE CITY - Robert Hartley Fraser, age 99, of Traverse City, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.
      Robert was born the son of Alonzo and Martha (Palm) Fraser on Nov. 21, 1904, in Virginia, Minn. On May 9, 1931, in Traverse City, he married the former Donna M. Earl, who preceded him in death.
      Robert lived in the area all his life. He was a member of the Masons, Eagles and Dad's Club. Robert enjoyed books and crossword puzzles.
      Robert is survived by his daughter, Donna Jean (Donald) Dalzell of Northport; three sons Robert (Delores) Fraser of Traverse City, Walter (Jackie) Fraser of Sanibel Island, Fla., and Charles H. (Anita) Fraser of Traverse City and Hot Springs, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Leonore Bohlen; brothers, Charles Fraser and Sidney Fraser, in infancy.
      Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
      Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

      NORTHPORT - Vivian Ella Rogers, 83, of Northport, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
      Born Sept. 10, 1920, in Goodison, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Florence (Wade) Hubbard. In Pontiac in 1942, she married Forrest Rogers, who preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1996.
      Vivian worked as a receptionist in a doctors office, for Dr. Christie, Dr. Schroeder and Dr. Kolberg, for more than 20 years. She also worked at the Leelanau Township Library for 10 years.
      Vivian was a long-standing member of the Northport Evangelical Covenant Church.
      She is survived by her children, Nancy Starkey of Traverse City, Connie (Robert) Podleski of Suttons Bay, Michael (Sylvia) Rogers of Northport and Patrick Rogers of Northport; three sisters, Ethel Robinson, Myrtle (Joe) Sweet and Jessie Sweet; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
      In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Ralph Hubbard; and two sisters, Helen Palmer and Velma Jarvis.
      Visitation will take place from 2 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Mart-inson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, at Northport Evangelical Covenant Church, with the Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will be in Leelanau Township Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Grand Traverse Pavilions, or to the Northport Evangelical Covenant Church Building Fund.
