Local arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Jessie Molnar Died December 23, 2003 TRAVERSE CITY - Jessie Molnar, 78, of Traverse City, died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions, surrounded by her loving family. Jessie was born in Manchester, England on March 21, 1925, the daughter of Harold and Anne (Ashworth) Heslop. She married Steve Molnar on Nov. 25, 1944, in England. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1986. Jessie was a homemaker, loving mother, and devoted wife. Taking care of her family was her life's work. She loved to read, knit, garden, and take walks. She enjoyed her several poodle dogs she raised throughout her life. Jessie is survived by her son, Louis H. Molnar of Las Vegas; two daughters, Susan M. (Gary) Hirt of Kalkaska, and Donna K. Schichtel of Traverse City; four grandchildren, Tina (Eddy) Norman and Steven G. Molnar of Florida, Shannon (Cece) Walters of Leland, and Jennifer (David) Skillman of Waterford; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Heslop of Dunfermline, Scotland. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years; her son, Steven Jack Molnar; and two sisters, Anne Damant and Lillian Heslop. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, in the Grand Traverse Pavilions, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Homes.
