February 12, 2003Obituaries**PHOTO** Irene HallDied February 10, 2003 TRAVERSE CITY - Irene Hall, 79, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Bortz Health Care Center. She was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Royal Oak, the daughter of Eugene and Myrtle (Wilheit) Gentry. On Oct. 9, 1948, Irene married Millard Norman Hall in Royal Oak. Employed as a technical librarian for the Ford Motor Company, Irene retired in 1981 after 25 years of service. Prior to moving to Traverse City from Dearborn 20 years ago, she was a member for many years of Farmington Hills Church of God and spent many summers in northern Michigan, enjoying camping and the beauty of the area, especially the water. She attended Bayview Wesleyan Church in Traverse City, where she loved the fellowship she shared with her friends. Irene is survived by her husband, Millard Norman Hall of Traverse City; her daughter, Norma Hall (John J.) Zelenko of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Jyoti B. (Patrick H.) Graham of Grand Rapids and Jason D. Zelenko of Grand Blanc; her great-granddaughter, Megan Elise Graham; her sister, Mable Fletcher of Sterling Heights, and her brother, Eugene Gentry of Florida. Also surviving are her husband's sisters, to whom she was very close, Vivian, Thelma, Judy, Alta, Carol Sue and Gloria. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Lell Messer. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Steenbergh officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Traverse Area Parkinson's Support Group or to Munson Hospice. Blanche Wieczorek-Brown Died February 10, 2003 TRAVERSE CITY - Blanche Wieczorek-Brown, 83, of Traverse City, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003. She was born May 26, 1919, in Detroit, to John and Mary (Przybyla) Stawasz. Prior to moving to Traverse City, Blanche had resided in Sterling Heights, Port Sanilac and Rochester, Mich. Her husband of 48 years, Edmund J. Wieczorek, preceded her in death in 1985. She was later married for seven years to Laurence A. Brown who also preceded Blanche in death in 1999. Blanche worked as a riveter for Briggs Manufacturing during World War II, and later was employed as a sales clerk. She attended weekly Catholic services at the Orchard Creek Assisted Living Facility where she resided. It was here also that Blanche enjoyed playing bingo, cards and concentration with her friends. She also enjoyed baking, watching bowling on television and reading. Blanche was an avid Tigers fan and never missed a game. She loved her family and grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. Blanche is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Gerald) Boner of Traverse City, and her son, Jack (Jane Nelson) Wieczorek; six grandchildren, Michael (Carol) Boner, Stewart (Patricia) Boner, Don (Dorshann) Snyder, Ken (Jenny) Snyder, Martha Snyder and Pam (Dean Ramsey) Snyder-Ramsey; 10 great-grandchildren, Josie and Samuel Boner, Zach, Heather, Whitney and Josie Snyder, Howie, Ozzie and Monika Ramsey, and Kevin Miller; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her two husbands, Blance was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leonard, Clarence and Harry; three sisters, Mildred, Marge and Lenore; and her nephew, Leonard. Memorial service plans will be announced at a later date. Interment will be Port Sanilac Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. Visitation for ELIZABETH 'BETTY' KADROVACH, who died Monday, Feb. 10, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids with Evening Prayer at 7 p.m. Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the church. A complete obituary will appear in Thursday's edition of the Traverse City Record-Eagle. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. THOMAS JAMES MILAN, 56, of Rapid City, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Bear Lake Christian Church. A full obituary will appear in the Thursday edition of the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
