Obituaries

      THOMPSONVILLE - Elsie Alice Prepejchal, 89, of Thompsonville, died Sunday, Nov. 23, at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City.
      She was born March 26, 1914, in Chicago, the daughter of August and Emma (Holtz) Ziemann.
      Elsie was a member of the American Legion Read-Osborne Post #531 Ladies Auxiliary in Copemish. She was a loving homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and raising her family. She had worked at Smeltzer Orchard Company in Frankfort as a lab technician. Elsie also enjoyed playing bingo and cards, crocheting and quilting.
      Elsie is survived by her children, Marv (Arlene) Prepejchal of Copemish, Roger Prepejchal of Thompsonville and Marilyn (Bob) Esman of Traverse City; four grandchildren, Rebecca Prepejchal of Ann Arbor, Jeffrey (Lynn) Prepejchal of Interlochen, Laurie (Mark) Wilson of Traverse City, and Brian (Jenny) Esman of Interlochen; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Joshua Prepejchal of Interlochen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Prepejchal, in 1973; her sister, Mildred Stedronsky; and her brothers, Ed Ziemann and Art Ziemann.
      Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home, with Pastor Donald Stroup officiating. Interment will be in the Thompsonville Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Read-Osborne Post #351 Ladies Auxiliary. Envelopes are available at Terwilliger Funeral Home.

      MADELINE MARIE KUCHAREK, 72, of Grayling, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at her home.
      Visitation will take place Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Sorenson Funeral Home in Grayling, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church in Grayling. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Grayling.
      Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
     
      MAXINE MARKER, 71, of Elk Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at her home.
      A complete obituary will appear in a later edition of the Record-Eagle.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
     
      MARION D. SMITH, 78, of Traverse City, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at his home.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.

      ALLEN F. WIDRIG, 80, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at his daughter's home in Copemish.
      A private family service has been held.
      The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
