ETZCORN, 81, of South Boardman, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Visitation will take place Monday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lodi Cemetery. A complete obituary will appear in Monday's edition of the Record-Eagle. MILDRED H. JOHNSON, 95, of Grayling, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel. Visitation also will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 31, prior to funeral services that will be held at 1 p.m. at Lovells Community Chapel. Burial will be in Lovells Township Cemetery. CHARLES L. KLAUMANN, 79, of Arcadia, died early Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Arcadia Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Following cremation at Oak Grove Cemetery, final interment will be in Conway Cemetery in Arcadia. The Edwards-Oak Grove Funeral Home of Bear Lake is serving the family. THOMPSONVILLE - Claude Duane Forrester, 76, of Thompsonville, went to be with his Lord Thursday, October 23, 2003, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Claude was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Elberta, to Grant and Velma (Crawford) Forrester. The family later moved to Beulah, where Claude's father ran the Beulah Drug Store Co. Claude grew up helping in the family business. Claude graduated from Benzonia High School in 1947. He then spent two years in the U.S. Navy and in 1952, Claude graduated from Ferris Institute with a degree in pharmacy. In the summer months Claude worked at the family drug store in Beulah, where he met and later married Geraldine "Gerry" Hart in 1949. From this union they had four children who grew up in Suttons Bay, where Claude ran a drug store for many years. Due to Claude's father's illness, Claude moved his family back to Benzie County. Claude and his brother, Francis, continued running the Beulah Drug Store together. They later started Beulah Drug Store #2 in the Benzonia Mall, which Claude ran until selling it in 1989. Claude continued doing relief work at the Drug Store in Beulah, and at Community Drugs in Benzonia. Claude and his son, Steve, later started a sport shop and pet store combination in the Benzonia Mall. Being an avid fly fisherman, Claude named the store The Back Cast Flyshop/Benzie Pets. Claude's greatest love was fishing, and he spent each morning at his shop talking to his fellow fishermen, right up until the day he left for the hospital. Claude is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Forrester; three sons, Dan L. (Lois) Forrester of Scandia, Craig D. (Tammy) Forrester of Indianapolis, Ind., and Steven W. (Amanda) Forrester of Benzonia; a daughter, Gayle E. (David) Peterson of Traverse City; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Connors, Joshua Forrester, Madison Forrester, Jasmine Forrester, the twins, Tiffany (Isaiah) Kline and Tabitha (John) McDaniels, Benjamin Forrester, Jonathon Forrester and Kyle Peterson; two brothers, Francis (Pat) Forrester of Beulah, and Allen (Ann) Forrester of Thompsonville; a sister, Audrey Johnson of Kentucky; his aunt, Donna Call of Traverse City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Claude was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gary Forrester. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today Oct. 26, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Pastor Timothy Brand officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
