Obituaries

      INTERLOCHEN - Ruby V. "Genny" Milbert, 69, a resident of Interlochen for the past 20 years, and formerly of Garden City, died at her home Saturday, Sept. 20, surrounded by her husband and her three children.
      Genny was born in Detroit on Jan. 10, 1934, the daughter of Ruby G. (Groves) and John W. Reid. In Dearborn on March 31, 1951, she married Richard I. Milbert, who survives.
      Genny was a 1952 graduate of Fordson High School in Dearborn and enjoyed reading and shopping. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
      In addition to her husband, Genny is survived by three children, Michael Milbert of Redford, Gwen Dawson of Westland and Susan (Carl) McBride of Livonia; by her grandchildren, Mandie and Eric Dawson; and by two nephews and one niece.
      She was preceded in death by her parents.
      Visitation will take place today, Sept. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
      Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home. The Rev. Barbara Hoig will officiate.
      In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be directed to Munson Hospice, 1105 6th St., Traverse City, MI 49684.

      MARY F. BALCH, 103, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
      Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Ellsworth Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Chris Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix.
     
      KENNETH LAMAR NELSON, 77, of Traverse City, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Munson Medical Center.
      Service arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
     
      BEATRICE ELIZABETH 'LOBBAN' TALARICO, 87, of Arcadia, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Tendercare of Manistee.
      Cremation will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
      Arrangements have been made by Edwards Oak Grove Funeral Home, Bear Lake.
