Obituaries

      FLOYD BOGART JR., 77, died on Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
      Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2004, at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, also at the funeral home.
      A full obituary will appear in a later edition of the Record-Eagle.
      Arrangements are being handled by Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
     
      DIANE MARY BROWN, 66, of Traverse City, formerly of Midland, died on Friday, April 9, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
      Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mapleton. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
     
      CAROLYN CORWIN, 61, of Gaylord, died on April 3, 2004.

      RITA DUMAS, 82, of Gaylord, died on April 3, 2004.

      LARRY FISHER, 65, of Gaylord, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2004.

      WILLIAM L. FRIEND, 88, of Jordan Township, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Charlevoix Area Hospital.
      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2004, at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, with visitation from noon until the time of services.
     
      CLEO GAMBREL, 86, of Johannesburg, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2004.

      DENIS GENNETTE, 61, of Gaylord, died on Sunday, April 4, 2004.

      GLADYS SZCZEPANIAK, 93, of Elmira, died on Friday, April 9, 2004.

      FRANK TOZSER SR., of Gaylord, died on April 2, 2004.

      BELLAIRE - Margaret Spikes, beloved mother of Beth (John) McKaig, David (Laura) Spikes and Kathleen (Alison Haskin) Spikes, and grandmother of two cherished grandchildren, Heather McKaig and John McKaig, died on Monday, April 5, 2004, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Spikes, in 1960.
      Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home in Dearborn.
      Memorials may be directed to the Coalition On Temporary Shelter (a homeless shelter), 26 Peterboro, Detroit, MI 48201.
      Local arrangements were made by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
     
      BENTON, Ky. - Walter Thomas McCabe, 80, of Benton, Ky., passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2004, in Calvert City, Ky.
      Walter was a retired police officer for the State of Michigan.
      He is survived by his sons, Carl Arthur McCabe of Benton, Ky., and Walter Thomas McCabe Jr. of lonia; cousin, Hal Lockwood of Florida; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by his wife, Arline Riker McCabe; father, Thomas Francis McCabe; and his mother, Lillian Mae Lockwood McCabe.
      Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Lake Funeral Home in Muir, where visitation will be held from noon until the time of services. Pastor Robert Hays will officiate.
