TIFFANY LIN CRIBBS, 33, of Long Lake Township, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004.
      Friends may call from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at New Hope Community Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5.
      A complete obituary will appear in Wednesday's Traverse City Record-Eagle.
      Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City.
      Memorial services for WILLIAM F. HELMRICH of Empire, who died July 30, 2004, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Glen Lake Community Reformed Church, 4902 W. MacFarlane Rd., Glen Arbor.
      Arrangements have been made by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
      WALLACE EARL QUICK, 80, of Old Mission, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at his home.
      No services are planned.

      Urcel L. Bell
      Died July 31, 2004
      ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Urcel L. Bell, Lt. Col. (Retired), 91, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at College Harbor Nursing Home, St. Petersburg.
      Born in Traverse City, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1963 from Alaska. He was a retired Army Lt. Col. with over 28 years of service including World War II. His unit went from Australia to Japan.
      Mr. Bell was a member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, the Calvary Association, and was an avid golfer.
      He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Bell; a son, Douglas Bell of St. Petersburg; a daughter, Lisbeth A. Bell of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a brother, Kenneth J. Bell of Traverse City; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
      The family is being served by Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes.
      Wilma G. Corcoran
      Died July 31, 2004
      TRAVERSE CITY - Wilma G. Corcoran, 68, of Traverse City, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Munson Hospice House.
      Born Feb. 15, 1926, in Harlan County, Ky., she was the daughter of J. B. and Martha (Woods) Walls. On April 29, 1967, in Inkster, she married Donald Corcoran, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2004.
      She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ella Elizabeth Walls Fisher; and by her only and most beloved daughter, Sue Ella Pierson, who died on Feb. 6, 1996.
      Wilma attended the University of Kentucky and was a graduate of Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in September 1956.
      A resident of Traverse City since 1968, Wilma was employed with Munson Medical Center until her retirement in 1998. She continued to work on an on-call basis until 2001.
      Wilma was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cherryland VFW Post #2780 and Eagles Auxiliary #383.
      Survivors include a granddaughter, Maegan Elizabeth Pierson of Traverse City; brother, Kenneth (Phyllis) Walls of New Port Richey, Fla., and their children, Gregory, Nan Sue, and Brett, and their families; niece, Rhonda Sue Fisher (James) Anderson, and their daughter, Cara, of Nashville, Tenn.; her special in-laws, Thomas and Madeline Corcoran of Troy, and their children, Tom and Teri, and their families; and a brother-in-law, Robert Corcoran of Gulf Port, Fla., and his family.
      Services will be held at noon Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Louise Kountze will officiate the service. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
      In remembrance of Wilma, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
      Wilma's family would like to acknowledge how grateful she was for the love and kindness shown by her many friends at Munson Medical Center, and for the excellent care provided by Dr. Lee Warnaar.
      Wilma also looked forward to the telephone visits with Kathy in Arizona, the Tuesdays with Lynne and the Wednesdays with Mary Ann and Connie. They each played a significant role in making her happy. Also to her friend, Lise (a.k.a. Anne), whom she always turned to and from whom she received special favors and miracles; and a special thanks to Teri for the role she played in Wilma's life.
      Harriet E. Dutcher
      Died August 1, 2004
      GAYLORD - Mrs. Harriet E. Dutcher, 92, of Gaylord, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Tendercare.
      Mrs. Dutcher was born in Hudson and had been living in Gaylord since 1974. On Feb. 14, 1938, at St. Paul's in Owosso, she married Charles G. Dutcher. He preceded her in death in 1972.
      Mrs. Dutcher worked as a housekeeper for Bishop Rose, former bishop of the Diocese of Gaylord, for several years. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral parish, St. Mary Altar Rosary Society, and a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis. Her hobbies included painting.
      Mrs. Dutcher is survived by her children, Charles R. "Chad" (Kathy) of Gaylord, Julia (John) Koebel of Carleton, Patrick (Mary Ann) of Lansing and Edward (Cathy) of Lansing; grandchildren, John (Deana), Michael (Debby) and Renee Dutcher, Kimberly (Dan) Bebble, Joseph (Monica) Dutcher, Ann (Bill) Jones, Christopher (Nicole) Koebel, Geoffrey, Sarah, Chad, Nicole and Andrea Dutcher; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Paige, Thomas and Jacob Dutcher, Jada, Danica and Averi Bebble, Lucas Dutcher, Ian and Gavin Koebel.
      In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Doriot; and sisters, Margaret Ahearn and Mary Ritter.
      Visitation will take place at the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord today, Aug. 3, from 2 to 8 p.m. St. Mary Altar Society will offer a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a parish wake service this evening.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at St. Thomas Church in Elmira. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, Traverse City.
      Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Faith in the Future building campaign or to the Alzheimer's Association through the Nelson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1548, Gaylord MI 49734.

      Terryl Geer
      Died July 24, 2004
      BARRINGTON, N.H. - Terryl "Terry" Geer, 65, of Barrington, N.H., died Saturday, July 24, 2004, after a period of failing health.
      Born in Lansing on Jan. 5, 1939, he was the son of the late Tony and Ruth (Eikey) Geer. He had resided in the Barrington area most of his life and had worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a painter.
      A graduate of Traverse City High School, Terry served in the U.S. Air Force and was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #7 of Rochester, N. H. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a music fanatic and loved life to the fullest.
      He is survived by his family, including his wife of 43 years, Charlynn (Constantine) Geer of Barrington; three sons; a daughter; three grandchildren; a brother, Ron (Marguerite) Geer of Traverse City; and sisters, Dorothy Gonzales of Los Angeles, Calif., and Patricia Fell of Ocala, Fla. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald.
      Funeral services were held in Rochester, N.H., and burial was in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, N.H.

      Richard Carl Goodson
      Died August 1, 2004
      TRAVERSE CITY - Richard Carl Goodson, born in Texas on July 21, 1920, went into the arms of Jesus on Aug. 1, 2004, after a long struggle with lung disease.
      Richard is survived by his wife, Dorothea Mae; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Elzerman of Flushing; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Theodore and Elizabeth Elzerman of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; and many dear nieces and nephews.
      Dick served in the U.S. Army from March 1948 through April 1953, much of that time in the South Pacific.
      Cremation has taken place.
      The family is most appreciative of the care and kindness provided by Richard's doctors and nurses during his long illness, and especially to Munson Hospice and Beth Nussdorfer and Erica Kerby, who provided such special caring help and attention.
      Should friends desire, expressions of sympathy may be made to Munson Hospice, 550 Munson Avenue, Traverse City, or to a charity of your choice.
      The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
      Albert John Hammond
      Died July 30, 2004
      ELK LAKE - Albert John Hammond, 76, passed away at his cottage on Elk Lake Friday, July 30, 2004.
      He was the beloved husband of the late Audrey.
      Albert is survived by his mother, Flo; and his sister, Joan. He was the loving father of Tricia (Patrick) Ahern, Meg (Ted) Zaremba, Rodney (Myrtelina), and Linda (Mike) Zimanski; and the devoted grandfather of Tiffany, Kristen, Kevin, Albert, Annie and Nicholas.
      Visitation will take place at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills, on this evening, Aug. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
      Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the funeral home.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
      Mary Harju
      Died July 26, 2004
      TRAVERSE CITY - Mary Harju, 90, of Traverse City, formerly of Detroit and Elk Rapids, passed away July 26, 2004, in Traverse City.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Eino (Art) Arthur Harju of Detroit and her son, Arthur Vincent Harju of Acme Township, formerly of Detroit.
      She is survived by her daughter, Louise Martin of Dearborn, Louise's children and grandchildren, and Art's children and grandchildren.
      Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City.

      Benjamin E. Wheatley
      Died July 31, 2004
      LELAND - Benjamin E. Wheatley, 78, of Leland, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Munson Medical Center.
      Born March 17, 1926, in Devils Lake, N.D., he was the son of Benjamin W. and Ruth (Hon) Wheatley.
      Following his discharge from the U.S. Navy, Ben attended Western Michigan University and graduated in 1947. Graduate school followed at the University of Michigan, where he earned a degree in education, as well as a Master of Social Work from Ohio State University in 1956.
      Mr. Wheatley was both a clinical and school social worker who devoted his time to counseling young people. For 25 years he was a school social worker at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill.; was in private practice in Glencoe, Ill.; served as an adjunct professor at the Traverse City campus of Grand Valley State University with the new graduate program in social work; and for 12 years was a volunteer in the guidance department at the Leland School, where he worked with students from kindergarten through high school.
      He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, David W. (Evelyn) Wheatley of Minneapolis, Minn., Christine L. (Jeff) Wheatley Vilen of Rochester, Minn., and Katherine L. (Todd) Bloomfield of St. Paul, Minn.; brother, William Wheatley of Red Bank, N.J.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
      Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.
      Memorials may be directed to the Leelanau Children's Center or the Leland Education Foundation.
      Arrangements are being handled by Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay.
