      GERALD LEE "JERRY" BOHN, 59, of Traverse City and formerly of Florida, died early Saturday morning, Aug. 7, 2004, at Munson Hospice House.
      A full obituary will be in Monday's edition of the Record-Eagle.
      The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
     
      LORI JO (TALARICO) DURGA, 41, of Traverse City, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Munson Medical Center.
      Arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
     
      JUNE LEE GOULETTE, 85, of Grayling, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at home.
      Visitation and funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at the Sorenson Funeral Home in Grayling. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska.
      Arrangements were by the Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel, in Grayling.
     
      ARTHUR RYMAL, 72, of Traverse City and Gainesville, Fla., died Aug. 5, 2004, at Munson Medical Center.
      Arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
     
      TRAVERSE CITY - Manuel Ramon Martin, 82, of Traverse City and formerly of Saginaw, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Munson Medical Center.
      Born Dec. 25, 1921, in Yokum, Texas, he was the son of Arnold and Sanjaunita (Ramon) Martin. He was a retired employee of General Motors and was currently employed for Sugarloaf Resort in Cedar.
      Surviving Manuel are his wife of 62 years, Delores of Traverse City; his children, Sally (John) Ursuy of Saginaw, Robert (Wanda) Martin of Springfield, Mo., John Martin of Traverse City and Deborah (Patrick) Kelly of Traverse City; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.
      A funeral service will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at 1 p.m., where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Bill Smith will officiate the service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Saginaw.
      Memorials may be considered to the building fund at the Zion Baptist Church, 5378 E. Gallivan Rd., Cedar, MI 49621.
     
      TRAVERSE CITY - Wilford E. Harris, 80, a Traverse City native, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 5, 2004, at Brigadoon Assisted Living.
      Born July 26, 1924, in Traverse City, he was the son of Thomas Huxtable and Myrtle (Clawson) Harris.
      A retired salesman, Mr. Harris was involved in the manufacturing industry as well as industrial coded abrasives. He was a member of the Traverse City Senior Center and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
      Survivors include his two sons, Gerald (Laura) Harris of Vienna, Va. and Robert (Patricia) Harris of Manila, the Philippines; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Timothy, Andrew and David Harris; sisters, Dorothy (Julius) Petertyl of Traverse City and Elizabeth Willard of Florence, Texas; a brother, Thomas Harris of Camden, S.C.; and sister-in-law, Arlene Harris of Traverse City.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred Harris; brother-in-law, John Willard; and a sister-in-law, Nadine Harris.
      Funeral services will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City on Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at 3 p.m., where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. John DeBruyn will officiate the services. Following cremation, burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
      In remembrance of Wilford, memorials may be directed to Munson Hospice.
     
      PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Mrs. Montgomery, 72, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday afternoon, July 24, 2004.
      She was born and raised in Traverse City, the daughter of the late Clarence and Nora Forton Edenburn. Mrs. Montgomery moved from Traverse City to the Palm Beaches in 1984. She was a former member of the Order of Easter Star in Traverse City.
      Mrs. Montgomery is survived by two devoted children, John Harvey (Valerie) Montgomery III of North Palm Beach and Nora M. Greenia of Palm Beach Gardens; four grandchildren, Corrine Montgomery of Macon, Ga., Michelle Montgomery of North Palm Beach, Thomas Greenia of Palm Beach Gardens and John Jackson of Auburn, Ind.; and two sisters, Barbara Fisher of Traverse City and Joyce (Whitey) Tolsted of Northville.
      She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, John Harvey Montgomery Jr., who died in 1994.
      The family will celebrate the life of Joanne Montgomery with a memorial service on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at 1 p.m., at Ranch Rudolf in Traverse City. Her final resting place will be in the woods near Ranch Rudolf, a resort that Mrs. Montgomery and her late husband had designed, owned and operated over the years.
      In lieu of flowers, contributions, in memory of Mrs. Montgomery, may be made to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, 1600 S.W. Archer Road, attention: Organ Transplant Center, Box 100251, Gainesville, FL 32610.
     
      LELAND - Marge (Boucher) Little died peacefully, at home in Leland, on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, after a three year fight with cancer. Born, in Detroit, on Aug. 13, 1938, she was the daughter of Joseph and Zay Boucher.
      Marge attended Marygrove College and was a graduate of the University of Detroit. She was an elementary school teacher, university social researcher and, with her husband, owner of the Benjamin Twiggs Cherry Products Company.
      A teacher, researcher, business owner and, most importantly, wife and mother, Marge was a friend to all who knew her. She was an avid reader and bridge player who volunteered her time to numerous community activities. She always found time for those she could help.
      Surviving Marge are her husband of 42 years, Cal Little; her daughters, Katie (Steve) Clingan of Oakley, Utah and Betsy (Hans) Baker of Contoocook, N.H.; son, Jeffrey (Jill) Little of Park City, Utah; a brother, the Rev. John (Laura) Boucher of Richmond, Va.; sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Curran of Lansing and Norma (Dick) Smith of Santa Ana, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
      A memorial service will be held on Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Peshawbestown. A celebration will follow the service.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her name, to the Leland Township Library, Leland, MI 49654.
      Arrangements are by the Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay.
     
      TRAVERSE CITY - Steven Hamilton Weir, 55, of Michigan and Louisiana, died Saturday, July 24, 2004.
      Steve attended Traverse City Central High School and spent much of his time during the summers in the family cottage on Torch Lake.
      Steve received his associates degree at Northwestern Michigan College. After obtaining his Captain's Merchant Marine license, Steve worked offshore.
      Steve is survived by his sisters, Kim Weir Snyder of Rochester Hills and Deborah Weir Rae of Saginaw; niece, Catherine Dollar; nephew, Christopher Dollar; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
      He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd H. Weir Jr.; and his mother, Maxine McLavey Weir of Flint and Traverse City.
      Cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the family cottage, "Weir-In-2," on Torch Lake.

      BILLINGS, Mont. - Adolph Edward Gehrcke, of Billings, Mont., was surrounded by his loving family during his time of passing on July 24, 2004.
      He was born to Adolph C. and Lillie M. (Moore) Gehrcke on Jan. 15, 1925. Adolph has one brother, Charles "Bud"; and three sisters, Betty (Gehrcke) Doyle, Lucille (Gehrcke) Dubay and Lillie May (Gehrcke) Reimers.
      Adolph married Lila M. Pretzer on Jan. 25, 1947. Together they raised six children, Mark E. Gehrcke, Cheryl R. (Gehrcke) Franzel, James A. Gehrcke, Jan R. (Gehrcke) McNeil, Shelley L. (Gehrcke) Fiant and Lisa J. (Gehrcke) Gritten. He has 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
      He served in the United States Navy in World War II on a light cruiser, the USS Oakland, in the South Pacific.
      Adolph started his career in Saginaw, in the family construction business, A.C. Gehrcke and Sons. In 1963, he moved his family to Sandusky, Mich., where he owned and operated Kelly's Bar & Restaurant for 11 years. In 1974, he retired to Traverse City.
      Adolph was an avid hunter and fisherman. His other favored pastimes included baking, cooking and gardening. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather.
      He was preceded in passing by his parents; and three of his grandsons.
      Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at 4 p.m., at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 2525 Hemmeter, Saginaw, MI. Pastor Julie Bailey will officiate the service.

      TRAVERSE CITY - Dean F. Jones, 75, of Traverse City and formerly of Flat Rock, passed away at his family's cottage on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004.
      Dean was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Flat Rock, to Franklyn H. and Beatrice I. (DeGraw) Jones. They preceded him in death. His mother was a member of the Pioneer Grand Traverse County family. Dean married Julia Fell London on June 11, 1976, in Saginaw. She predeceased him on March 21, 1989.
      Dean was a 1945 graduate of Flat Rock High School, and a 1948 graduate of the Detroit Business Institute. He spent 40 years as an accountant and auditor for many Michigan firms.
      He served his country in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1952, in Germany, and was discharged as a sergeant. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Mittlestat-Smith Post #337 of Flat Rock. Dean was a charter member and past president of the Kiwanis Club and past member of the Flat Rock Elks.
      Dean enjoyed traveling, playing the organ, doing crossword puzzles, reading and creating limericks. He was a great sports fan and was known as a very talented and experienced bowler who carried a very high average for many years. He lived in Saginaw Township for about 20 years and spent his last years in Flat Rock.
      Dean is survived by his sister, Mary Louise Jones of Flat Rock; a brother, William F. (Mary Lou Wager) Jones of Lincoln Park; two nephews, Bryan W. Jones of Lincoln Park and Bruce F Jones of Linden; a niece, Marcia L. and Robert Hudson of Oxford; five grandnephews, William E., Matthew F. and Benjamin T. Jones, all of Ann Arbor, and Robert C.W. and Nolan S.R. Hudson of Oxford; and one grandniece, Lauren E.R. Hudson.
      Dean was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
      Friends and family are welcome to call today, Aug. 8, 2004, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on South Midland Rd. (M-47), in Saginaw. A funeral service will take place on Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Kim Chenoweth will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors, under the auspices of VFW Post 1566, will be observed at the cemetery.

      MAPLE CITY - Arnold J. DeJong, 67, of Maple City, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at home. Formerly of Pella, Iowa and Berkley, he has been a resident of the Maple City area since 1995.
      Born April 1, 1937, in Midland Park, N.J., he was the son of William and Marie (Blom) DeJong. On June 14, 1960, in Pella, Iowa, he married Treva N. Keuning, who survives.
      Mr. DeJong served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa, did graduate work at U.S.C. and the University of South Dakota and received his master's degree from the University of Michigan.
      Arnold was a physics and math instructor at Central High School in Omaha, Neb. as well as at Detroit Country Day High School. In December of 1994, after 21 years of service, he retired as an executive engineer from Chrysler Motors.
      He had been a member of Cantata Academy of Metro Detroit, the Berkley Board of Education, where he had served as president, and was a member of the Leelanau Conservancy. He enjoyed photography, astronomy and boating.
      In addition to his wife, also surviving are his son, Jonathan (Zina) DeJong of Denver; his daughter, Laura (Jared) Binder of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, John (Joline) DeJong of Pella, Iowa and Vernon DeJong of Sharon, Pa.; sister, Nella (George) Elliot of New London, Iowa; grandson, Aaron DeJong; granddaughter, Isabel Binder; five nieces; and one nephew.
      He was preceded in death by his parents.
      A gathering to celebrate Arnold's life will be held Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Leelanau Country Inn on Harbor Hwy., in Maple City.
      Memorial contributions, in Arnold's name, should be directed to the Leelanau Conservancy, 105 N. 1st. St., P.O. Box 1007, Leland, MI 49654.
