      DORIS E. BOWKER, 61, of Bellaire, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.
      Arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
     
      ANNE MARIE KORSON, 83, of Lake Leelanau, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.
      A complete obituary will appear in an upcoming edition of the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
      Arrangements are pending at Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay.
     
      CHARLES G. SCHNEIDER, born Aug. 1, 1951, died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, in Denver, Colo.
      He was the son of Betty (Tebelman) and the late Henry J. Schneider; brother of Richard, Paul and Christine; and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
      Interment took place in Corunna, Mich.
     
      ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. - Grace L. Bowers, 92 , of St. Croix Falls, Wis., formerly of Benzonia, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004.
      She was born June 17, 1912, in Elberta, the daughter of Victor and Sara Reed.
      Mrs. Bowers is survived by two children, Ida (James) Bales of La Grange, Calif., and Maurice (LaVonne) Bowers of Chicago City, Minn.; two daughters- in- law, Jean Bowers of Beulah and Delores Bowers of Dorr; 15 grandchildren and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, who she married on Jan. 5, 1931; two sons, Earl, Jr. and Paul; and two sisters, Elsie (Maurice) Marshall and Sara.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Rev. Floyd Soper officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Benzonia Twp. Cemetery in the spring.
      The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
     
      MANCELONA - Kathy L. Frederick, 54, of Mancelona, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
      Kathy will be best remembered for her contagious laugh and genuine smile. She found reason to celebrate even the smallest of occasions. She was an extremely generous and kind-hearted person who always put the needs of others before her own. She was the world’s greatest mom and grandma. She was a dedicated educator who had a special love for her students. She opened her caring home and provided love for the foster children whose lives she touched.
      She was an avid shopper on QVC. She also enjoyed crafting, camping, the beauty of the area, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters.
      Kathy was born on May 5, 1950, in Detroit, the daughter of Stanley and Clara (Stewart) Wilkins.
      She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with her bachelor of science and later received her master’s degree from Marygrove College. She spent most of her career as a special education teacher in Mancelona Public Schools.
      She is survived by two daughters, Beth (Randy) Britt of Pigeon and Tracey Frederick of Roseville; three sisters, Sandy Krolik of Northport, Linda Deegan of Dearborn and Karen (Pete) Budreau of Traverse City; two granddaughters, Taylor Paige and Alana Nicole; as well as many nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Clara Wilkins; and her sister, Jewel Wilkins.
      Her laughter, smile and generous spirit will be deeply missed by the many people she has touched throughout her life.
      A funeral mass will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. Fr. Dale Magoon will officiate.
      The family will receive friends today, Dec. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. A prayer service will follow at 8 p.m. Interment will take place in Caseville Township Cemetery in Caseville.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tracey Frederick for the education of her grandchildren, or to the Mancelona Public Schools Special Education program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
     
      TRAVERSE CITY - Martha Margaret Tyrrell, 97, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2004.
      She was born Aug. 19, 1907, to William A. and Bessie (Grandy) Conselyea in Adrian. Martha married Solon H. Tyrrell on Nov. 25, 1926, in Port Huron.
      Martha was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church in Royal Oak, Utica and Port Sanilac. She was a Sunday school teacher, a Girl Scout leader, PTA president, a member of the Garden Club, a hospital volunteer, and served as a docent with the Port Huron Historical Museum. Martha loved crafts, but her talents were painting and woodcarving.
      She is survived by her son, Roger (Suzanne) Tyrrell; daughters, Elizabeth (Don) Hancock and Joyce (Arthur) D’Hondt; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002.
      A celebration of life will take place Mother’s Day 2005 at Acacia Park Cemetery.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
