RONALD VINCENT BOWLING, 64, of Cobden, Ill., and Bear Lake, died on Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
Funeral Services will be held this evening, Dec. 28, at 8 p.m. at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden, Ill. Burial will take place in Bear Lake Township Cemetery, Bear Lake, in the spring of 2005.
The family has entrusted local funeral arrangements to Edwards-Oak Grove Funeral Home.
JOHN THEODORE 'TED' EHMAN, 82, died at his home Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004.
Visitation will take place Sunday evening, Jan. 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at the Benzonia Congregational Church.

DONNA MAE GARDNER, 68, of Grayling, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Covenant Healthcare.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 28, at Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel, in Grayling. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Sorenson Funeral Home.
LUCY ELLEN HAGGERTY, 88, of Thompsonville, formerly of Lansing, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004.

VIRGINIA MAE HEMINGER, 92, of Niles, formerly of Traverse City, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Dec. 28, at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan, where friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time.
ELSIE JANE KIK, 86, of Traverse City, died at the Grand Traverse Pavilions Friday, Dec. 24, 2004.
Visitation will take place today, Dec. 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home in Jenison.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home.
BARBARA J. OTTO, 78, died Monday morning, Dec. 27, 2004, at her home on Glen Lake.

Martin T. Braman II
Died December 26, 2004
EAST JORDAN - Martin T. Braman II, 50, of East Jordan, died at his home Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004.
He was born in Bellaire Nov. 14, 1954, the son of Martin T. Braman and Delores (Bushard) Braman. On Aug. 23, 1992, he married Rose Zipp in East Jordan.
Martin was a member of the Harvest Barn Word of Life Church in East Jordan. He had resided in East Jordan for many years. He was raised in Mancelona, where he graduated high school.
Martin owned and operated Boyne Country Insurance Company. Prior to starting the company, he spent many years managing several Glen's Markets in and around northern Michigan.
Martin was an avid sports fan and enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; four children, Jennifer Lynn Braman of Traverse City, Martin Thomas Braman III of Williamsburg, and Travis Tyler and Randy Weston, both of East Jordan.
In addition, he is survived by his father, Martin T. (Charlene) Braman of Bullhead, Ariz.; his mother, Delores (Tom Sylvester) Braman of Mancelona; two brothers, Biff Braman of Nevada and Rick (Micah) Braman of Utah; a grandson, Brandon Braman of Traverse City; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, Dec. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., in East Jordan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Harvest Barn Word of Life Church in East Jordan. Pastor Kimon Criner will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Harriet E. Braun
Died December 25, 2004
TRAVERSE CITY - Harriet E. "Grandma B" Braun, 97, a resident of Traverse City since 1961, died at Grand Traverse Pavilions Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2004.
Born May 12, 1907, in Jackson, she was the daughter of Frederick Scrimshaw and Winifred Maude (Marshall) Marriott.
Harriet's favorite thing to do was spending time with her family at her home on Rennie Lake. She also enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. In fact, she once won a trophy from the Che-Che-Gon Club in Traverse City for catching a record-sized bluegill, as well as an award for accuracy in a fly fishing contest.
She will forever be remembered by her family for her love and generosity, and for the times she would regale them with her favorite poems and recipes. Her passing is the end of an era.
Harriet is survived by two children, Sally L. Heiler and Herbert W. (Nancy) Wright; grandchildren , Robert L. (MaryLynn) Kurtz, Sally C. (Terry) Knott, Cindy E. (Scott) Hardy, Tammy Wright, Tom (Diana) Wright, John (Michelle) Wright; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Braun; her daughter, Winifred Kurtz; and grandson, Tim Wright.
Private family services have been held. Harriet will be buried next to her husband, Clarence, at Roseland Memorial Gardens in Jackson.
In remembrance of Harriet, memorials may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

Glynn F. Butler Sr.
Died December 25, 2004
TRAVERSE CITY - Glynn F. Butler Sr., 78, formerly of Frankfort, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1926, in Ludington. Glynn married Barbara Mowry on March 7, 1959.
Glynn retired in 1965 from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Boatswain Mate, and from Frankfort Manufacturing in 1988. He was a member of Frankfort United Methodist Church, the Frankfort Lions for over 25 years, Special Military Active and Retired Travel Club and the Benzie Area Historical Society.
His wife, Barbara, survives him, along with children, Glynn F. Butler Jr. of Traverse City, Claudia (Sean) Knudsen of Howell, Gayle (Gregg) Relyea of Grandville and Cheryl Kramer of Plymouth; grandchildren, Brittany and Brent Butler, Kevin Danks, Nathan and Amanda Knudsen, Branden and Lauren Relyea, and Ashley and Quinn Kramer; two sisters, JoAnn Cherry of Lambertville and Alice Smith of Port Sanilac; and several nieces and nephews.
Glynn was preceded in death by his father, Glynn, and mother, Marie; step-father, Charles Butler, and step-mother, Cecile.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Frankfort United Methodist Church, with Rev. Greg Culver officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery North in the spring.
Memorials may be directed to the Frankfort United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Benzie Area Historical Society, American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.

Thomas Darscheid
Died December 23, 2004
BULLHEAD, Ariz. - Thomas Darscheid, 62, of Bullhead, Ariz., died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004.
Thomas was born May 21, 1942. He was married to Mick Gauthier.
Mr. Darscheid was retired from CSX Railroad in Saginaw. He had since moved to Bullhead, Ariz.
He is survived by two sons, Tom Jr. (Deb) and Robert (Donna); a step-son, Dan (Lena) Fosnight; two daughters, Trish (Kevin) Betrand and Brittany Darscheid; two step-daughters, Deb (Jim) Ruhl and Wanda Graebner; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Charles Edward Fisk
Died December 25, 2004
FRANKFORT - Charles Edward Fisk, 68, of Frankfort, died at his residence Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004.
He was born in Detroit Jan. 6, 1936, the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Fisk. Charles married Betty M. Lawrence on May 6, 2000, in Rockford.
Charles was a member of Blaine Christian Church. He was an avid deer hunter. He retired in 1998 from General Motors.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Ann (Leonard) Nelson of Fenton, Linda (John) Byers of Hazel Park, Doug Fisk of Fenton, Brenda Chodoba of Chesterfield, Dennis Goodspeed of Cedar Springs, and Bonnie (Derek) Schumaker of Lansing; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Robert Fisk of Berlwyn, Pa.; and many niece and nephews.
Friends may visit Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Blaine Christian Church with Rev. Bob Larimer officiating. Interment will be in the Joyfield Twp. Cemetery in the spring.
Memorials may be directed to the Blaine Christian Church.

Jeanne Gadwa
Died December 23, 2004
ELK RAPIDS - Jeanne Gadwa of Elk Rapids passed away at home surrounded by her family Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004.
Jeanne was born in Detroit Feb. 19, 1929, the daughter of Charles and Gladys Brown. Jeanne was married to Ronald J. Gadwa March 1, 1947, and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Jeanne was a homemaker until her family was grown, then returned to work in various office-related capacities. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, The Rushlight Club, and Weavers Guild of Traverse City. Her hobbies included weaving, spinning, rug-hooking, knitting, gardening and bird-watching. Throughout her life, Jeanne's passion for all living things was reflected in her care of and love for her many pets and all creatures great and small.
She is survived by two sons, Denis (Marcia Robson) Gadwa of London, Ontario, Canada, and Jerry (Cheri) Gadwa of Traverse City; two daughters, Bonnie Gadwa of Lac LaBiche, Alberta, Canada, and Pat (Auston) Garno of Elk Rapids; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Rebecca, Abe, Yvonne, Adam, Kelly and Ben; and a brother, Dr. Thomas E. Brown.
A private family memorial service and spreading of her ashes will take place in the summer of 2005.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society and Munson Hospice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
Elizabeth M. Schneider
Died December 25, 2004
LAKE LEELANAU - Elizabeth M. Schneider, 91, of Lake Leelanau, died at Leelanau Memorial Health Center Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004. She was born Dec. 30, 1912, in Lake Leelanau.
Elizabeth was an avid gardener, a hard worker, and a loving caretaker of Mr. Dufek after his stroke. Elizabeth and her husband Frederick were county institutions, well known for their produce stand just outside of Lake Leelanau on M-204.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Lena) of Frankfort and Milford (Grace) of Lake Leelanau; 11 beautiful grandchildren and 25 wonderful great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick; two brothers, Lewis and John Dufek; a sister, Alice; her child, Willard; and two grandchildren; Jean and Anthony.
Visitation will be take place today, Dec. 28, from 2 to 9 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.
A Catholic Mass will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Jerry Hunko will officiate.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Mary's Catholic Schools.
Duane Wilson
Died December 24, 2004
FLINT - Duane Wilson, 70, of Flint, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, after a long illness. He had been residing at his son's home in Jackson the last few years.
Duane was born in Kingsley on Feb. 13, 1934, the son of Ivan and Bessie Wilson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. Duane retired from Grand Truck Railroad after 43 years of service, and was active in many community organizations.
He is survived by four children, Steve (Karen) Wilson of Jackson, Bryon D. Wilson of Flint, Dan (Karen) Wilson of Liberty, Mo., Joyce "Beauchesne" Wilson of Flushing; 15 grandchildren; nine siblings, Muriel, Jim, Sandy, Jackie, Nancy, Diane, Gloria, Denise and Jenny; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and mother of his children, Mary Jo (John) Greenwood; and other special friend, Beverly Wilson.
According to his wishes, Duane has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley.
"Duane was a man who loved to plant trees so future generations could enjoy their beauty and rest in their shade."

Betty J. Worm
Died December 27, 2004
TRAVERSE CITY - Betty June Worm, 78, of Traverse City, died at Munson Medical Center Monday, Dec. 27, 2004.
Betty was born in Grand Rapids June 1, 1926, the daughter of Anna (Dupperron) and Glen Plucker, and moved to Traverse City with her family when she was a year old. Betty married Edwin Worm in Ft. Wayne, Ind., on Feb. 26, 1949.
A factory worker at United Technologies for 23 years, Betty used to enjoy bowling, rollerskating and dancing. In recent years, she really enjoyed playing bingo and outings to Turtle Creek Casino.
Over the years, Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. For many years she maintained a large garden and especially enjoyed her lilac bushes.
Betty also enjoyed spending time with her family members in Florida. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include her sons, Edwin (Gina) of Traverse City, Robert (Deborah) and Michael (Darlene), all of Tampa, Fla., and Daniel (Cindy Brzezinski) of Traverse City; and a sister, Jennie "Babe" (Shorty) Goff of Acme. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Edwin, who died in 1979.
Visitation will take place this evening, Dec. 28, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a VFW Auxiliary service at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Grawn in the spring.
Memorials may be directed to the family or to the American Diabetes Association.
