WILLIAM A. CONDUX, 72, of Stronach, died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at his home.
      Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Heritage Baptist Church in Manistee.
      Johnson Funeral Home, Manistee, is in charge of arrangements.
     
      LEESA JEAN GALVANI, 48, of Grayling, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
      Arrangements have been handled by Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel, in Grayling.
     
      THELMA C. MARTIN, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at her Kalkaska home.
      Burial will be in Coldsprings Township Cemetery in the spring.
      Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska is in charge of arrangements.
     
      ELIZABETH A. McINTYRE, 73, of Manistee, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee.
      Visitation will take place Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Herbert Funeral Home, Manistee, with an evening prayer service at 8 p.m.
      Mass from the Order of Christian Funeral will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel Shrine Church in Manistee. Burial will be in the spring in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Onekama.
     
      ANGEL JEAN SUTHERLAND, infant daughter of John Swogger and Victoria Sutherland of Wellston, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Spectrum Health Center – Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva, with Mr. Lou Brach officiating. Interment will be in the Wellston Cemetery in the spring.
      The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until time of services at the Terwilliger Funeral Home.
     
      DUANE HAROLD VALENTINE, 64, of Honor, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Rev. Floyd Soper officiating.
     
      RICHARD E. WAGNER, 63, of Mancelona, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Grayling Mercy Hospital.
      No services are planned at this time.
      Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
      AUBURN HILLS - Kaitlin Mort, 20, of Auburn Hills, died Jan. 18, 2004, at Angela Hospice in Livonia.
      Kaitlin was born March 31, 1983, in Traverse City. She was a graduate of Rochester High School.
      Kaitlin is survived by her father, Ray; stepmother, Carolyn; brother, Maxx; and sister, Devin.
      She was preceded in death by her mother, Gwen.
      Visitation will take place today, Jan. 20, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14 and 15 mile roads), in Clawson.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Faith Baptist Church, 3411 Airport Rd., in Waterford. Committal services will be held in the spring in Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City. Notice of date and time will appear at a later date.

      OGDEN, Ill. - Kimberly Sue "Kim" Bellant, 37, of Ogden, Ill., formerly of Traverse City, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Provena Covenant Medical Center, following a long illness.
      Kim had a flair for fashion and had many interests, including painting, listening to music, cooking, fishing and camping "without bugs." She also enjoyed watching television, especially cooking shows, and her favorite, "Little House on the Prairie."
      Kim faced many challenges in her life and is now truly at peace. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
      Survivors include her mother, Charlotte 'Char' (Joseph) Wisniewski of Maple City; a daughter, Christina L. Bellant of Champaign, Ill.; her loving companion of 16 years, Kenneth Butler of Ogden, Ill.; a sister, Katherine (John) Andary of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three brothers, Ted Bellant and Jason Bellant, both of Traverse City, and Kevin (Stephanie) Bellant of Maple City; maternal grandmother, Florence Merchant of Cheboygan; several aunts and uncles; and nine nieces and nephews, one being her godson, Jack.
      Friends may call at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City on Wednesday evening, Jan. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
      Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jon DeBruyn will be officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the St. Rita/St. Joseph Cemetery in Maple City.
      In remembrance of Kim, memorials may be directed to her family.
      TRAVERSE CITY - Eileen Bye entered into this world on Sept. 28, 1911, the third of five children. Her childhood was shared with three sisters and one brother, Etha Marsh (deceased), Edith Marsh (deceased), Maude Mead of Honor and F.D. Clow (deceased).
      Eileen married Lorentz O. Bye and together they loved and nurtured their five children. She took on the honorable and noble task of Mother and homemaker. She forged the ties that weld the bonds of a family together.
      The children are Barbara Cox (Charles, deceased), Richard (Pamela) Bye, Mary Overlie, (deceased), John, Nikoline Elhart and Cynthia (Lawrence) Flynn. There are 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
      Eileen served her community through volunteer work with the American Red Cross, twenty years with the Girl Scouts of America, and most recently ringing the bell at Christmastime for the Salvation Army through her association with the Wisteria Rebecca Lodge.
      Eileen was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church. She left this world on Jan. 17, 2004, surrounded by her loving family. She left the legacy of a great mission accomplished, a mission of glorifying her creator and perpetuating His creation. Through her kind heart and noble character, she provided for and touched the lives of all that new her. She made this world a gentler, kinder place. She will be missed.
      Services celebrating her life will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with Elder Michael Mead officiating.
      Visitation will take place this evening, Jan 20, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
      Memorial contributions in Eileen's name may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
      Angela Lund
      Died January 17, 2004
      TRAVERSE CITY - Angela Lund, 97, of Traverse City and formerly of Suttons Bay, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Bortz Health Care.
      Angela was born in Traverse City on Feb. 17, 1906, the daughter of Anna (Rehack) and Joseph Pomazal.
      Angela attended Immaculate Conception School. She was an operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Co. in Traverse City and when her husband's job took them to the Petoskey area, she became the head chief operator for the Petoskey office of the phone company.
      After their retirement, Angela and her husband returned to her husband's family home in Suttons Bay. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. After moving to Traverse City, she attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
      Angela is survived by her nieces, Audrey Sprentall of Traverse City and Betty Scheckel of Cleveland, Ohio, and many other nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus; her parents; and her brothers and sisters, Julius, Henry, Ann VanTol and Josephine Pomazal.
      The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Father James Hayden will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
      The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
      ALDEN - Sandra Lee Weaver, 53, of Alden, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at her home.
      Sandy was born March 26, 1950, in Pontiac, the daughter of Robert and Jacqueline (Steiner) Walker.
      Sandy moved to Alden from Attica in 1988. She was a member of the Alden United Methodist Church and the Woodland Weavers Guild. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Alden State Bank and enjoyed gardening, camping, and basket-weaving.
      In 1994, she married Tim Weaver, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert D. Andrews of Davison and Benjamin E. (Christine) Andrews of Attica; a stepson, Timothy Allen Weaver of Alden; her father, Robert Lee Walker; three sisters, Cynthia (Michael) Shagena of Bellaire, Donna (William) Sylvester of Lake Orion, Kimm (Michael) Allison of Bellaire; a stepbrother, Michael (Gail) Wotton of Clarkston; five grandchildren, Hunter, Darringer, Mckenzie, Dillon and Alexandria; and many nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Wotton; her stepfather, Al Wotton; and her first husband, David George Andrews.
      The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mortensen Funeral Home in Bellaire.
      Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, with James Andrews officiating. Interment will be in Helena Township Cemetery.
