July 5, 2004ObituariesDONALD EDWARD BARNARD, 80, of Benzonia, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the funeral home, with Rev. Russ Garrigus officiating. Interment will be in Springdale Cemetery in Springdale Township. A complete obituary will appear in the Tuesday edition of the Traverse City Record-Eagle. ROBERT C. BORWELL Jr., of Frankfort, born May 18, 1933, died March 30, 2004. A memorial service will be held today, July 5, 2004, at 2 p.m., at the St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Beulah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be considered to your local hospice. STAMP, 65, of Manistee, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Tendercare of Ludington. Friends may call at the Johnson Funeral Home Tuesday, July 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service for family and friends conducted by the Salvation Army will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at First Baptist Church in Manistee. The family is being served by Johnson Funeral Home in Manistee. EDWARD JOSEPH RUTKOWSKI SR., 89, of Traverse City and formerly of Detroit, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Grand Traverse Pavilions. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, July 5, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Michael Janowski serving as celebrant. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Mapleton. The family is being served by The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. JAMES VINCENT SCHRAM II, of Traverse City, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at his home. Visitation will take place today, July 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at St. Francis Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. James Gardiner will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Dr. Richard J. Knoff Died July 2, 2004 TRAVERSE CITY - Dr. Richard J. Knoff, 79, of Traverse City, died peacefully on Friday, July 2, 2004, at his home. Born December 30, 1924, in Detroit, he was the son of John P. and Lillie (Cauley) Knoff. On June 19, 1948, also in Detroit, he married the former Margaret A. Graessle. Dr. Knoff is a 1952 Graduate of the University of Detroit Dental School and was a dentist in the Grosse Pointe area for 47 years. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; his children, Kathryn (Frederick) Bechtold of Traverse City, John (Eva) Knoff of Chicago, Sally Panci of Dearborn, Michael (Kathleen) Knoff, Dennis (Suzanne) Knoff, and Mark Knoff, all of Midland; his brother, Gerald (Florence) Knoff of Black River; and two sisters, Elaine Knoff of Harper Woods and Beverly (Vincent) Miceli of Howell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Mary; and two brothers, Bernard and Paul. A scripture service will be conducted at the Immaculate Conception Church in Traverse City today, July 5, 2004, at 7 p.m., with family and friends invited. A memorial Mass will be celebrated, also at the church, on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Father Michael Janowski serving as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Memorial contributions by be directed to the Immaculate Conception Church or Munson Medical Center. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
