EDITHA M. ENGWALL, 94, of Manistee, died Friday, July 30, 2004.
      Visitation will be today, July 31, 2004, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Johnson Funeral Home in Manistee. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at 3 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Manistee.
      Arrangements are by the Johnson Funeral Home in Manistee.
     
      TONY GRYBOK, 83, of Kaleva, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his residence.
      Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Floyd Soper officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Township Cemetery, where military graveside services will be performed under the auspices of the Bear Creek VFW Post #6333.
     
      MARTHA M. JUMP, 86, of Traverse City, died suddenly Thursday evening, July 29, 2004.
      A full obituary will appear in a later edition of the Record-Eagle.
      Arrangements by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
     
      MICHAEL FREDERICK KAUTZ, 65, of Manistee, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his home after a brief illness.
      Cremation will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
      The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Oak Grove Cremation Center.
     
      CHESTER S. KOOP, M.D., of Frankfort and formerly of Flint, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at Munson Medical Center.
      Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Frankfort Chapel of McElduff Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m., at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beulah.
     
      CHRISTIAN OLAF OLAFSSON, 75, of Mesick, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac.
      Cremation has taken place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
      The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Oak Grove Cremation Center.
     
      HELEN XAVIER PAWLOSKI went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2004, surrounded by her loving family.
      Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m., at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Peter Eke on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the St. Francis Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Greenbriar Cemetery.
     
      TRAVERSE CITY - George E. Cook, 70, of Traverse City, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Munson Medical Center. He was born, in Cincinnati, on Nov. 17, 1933, the son of James F. and Josie C. (Hurtt) Cook. On June 20, 1998, he married Laura F. Porterfield.
      George was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired carpenter and was very involved in the Women's Resource Center. George enjoyed singing karaoke, fishing and hunting. His family and grandchildren were his life.
      He is survived by his wife, Laura F. Cook, of Traverse City; his children, Connie Lubtanen of Traverse City, Michael (Shari) Cook of North Carolina, Carol Rose of Traverse City, Timothy Cook of Grand Blanc, Daniel (Sue) Cook of Sterling Heights and Thomas (Tracy) Cook of Traverse City; his stepchildren, Shawon LaBonte of Traverse City, Shad LaBonte of Traverse City and Shannon (Tim) Homan of Mancelona; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Cook; one grandson, Sean Bell; and his brothers and sisters.
      Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., from the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m., also from the funeral home, with the Rev. Doyle Berg officiating. Burial will take place in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, with full military honors under the auspices of the Cherryland VFW Post #2780.
      Memorials may be considered to Family Intentions.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
     
      FREEHOLD TWP., N.J. - Grace Lucile Connell, 92, of Freehold Township, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Twp. She was born in Adrian and resided in Delray Beach, Fla. prior to moving to Freehold Twp. two years ago.
      Grace is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Maria Connell of Freehold Twp; daughter, Constance O'Connell-Arnfield and her husband, Dr. Edwin Arnfield, of North Port; brother, Aubrey Hayes of Michigan; sister, Jean Howell of California; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
      Grace was predeceased by her husband, Theron J. Connell, in 1971.
      Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a funeral service to be held at 6 p.m., at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main St., Freehold, NJ 07728. Interment will be private.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150 or to the National Down Syndrome Society, 666 Broadway, New York, NY 10012.
