      Richard C. Bagans
      Died June 2, 2004
TRAVERSE CITY - Richard Charles Bagans, 90, of Traverse City, and a long time resident of the Interlochen area, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Munson Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 17, 1913, in Trenton, the son of Martha (Wenzel) and Henry Bagans.
A veteran of World War II, Dick served in the U. S. Army and played in the Army band. He played stringed instruments and the Sousaphone. In his teen years, he received scholarships to attend Interlochen Arts Academy and continued, over the years, to attend many of the events there. His love of the Interlochen area inspired his move to the area from Trenton many years ago.
Dick, in his early years, owned and operated an ice cream parlor, making his own ice cream. In later years he owned and operated a furniture store. He loved to travel, and for over 60 years, he has owned Airstream trailers and enjoyed "trailering" all over the country. Just a few years ago, Dick and his wife toured around the world on the Queen Elizabeth II.
Dick is survived by his wife, Frieda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and three brothers.
No services are planned at this time.
Should friends desire, expressions of sympathy may be made to The Cherryland Humane Society in the form of a donation.
The family is being served by The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.

Joe married Edna Mae DeLong in 1937, and operated a fruit farm and also enjoyed a maple syrup business.
Loved ones of Joseph would like to extend to Munson Medical Center, Manistee County Medical Care Facility and Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital LTC, their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation.
