VIVIAN A. HAKALA, 85, of Traverse City, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Munson Medical Center.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at 11 a.m., at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in Traverse City.

FRANCIS "FRANK" E. READ, 63, of Echo Township, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in Marquette.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth.
MARY L. REWALD, 90, of Williamsburg, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Tendercare of Traverse City.
Service arrangements and a complete obituary will appear later this week in the Record-Eagle.
Arrangements are by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
KATHLEEN M. WALKER, 58, of Traverse City, died of a sudden and unexpected illness at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon.

MILDRED M. WHITE, 99, of Traverse City, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Hope Village Assisted Living Center.
Arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
TRAVERSE CITY - Thomas Hosking Hart, 72, of Traverse City, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at his Traverse City residence with his loving family at his side.
Thomas was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Flint, to John and Bessie (Veal) Hart. On Jan. 17, 1953, Thomas married Ruth Johanna (Martin) at the First Reformed German Lutheran Church in Flint.
In 1991, Thomas retired as a maintenance construction truck driver with General Motors AC Spark Plug Division in Flint, and he and his wife moved to their Traverse City residence.
He loved working in his yard, and enjoyed old cars and traveling with his wife and grandchildren. Spending their winters in Arizona, Thomas enjoyed the peace of watching the Colorado River. He was a proud member of UAW Local 651.
Besides his wife, Ruth, Tom is survived by three children, Thomas (Susan) Hart of Flushing, Renee (Anthony) Pietrangelo of Traverse City and John (Patricia) Hart of Grand Blanc; four grandchildren, Anthony, Vincent, Madison and Riley Thomas; one step-granddaughter, Lorraine; one brother, William Hart of St. Clair Shores; and one sister, Mary Joyce Doll of Flushing.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents.
Visitation will be today, Nov. 10, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at 5 p.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. David L. Vickers officiating.
Memorials will be appreciated to Munson Hospice or the American Lung Association.
TRAVERSE CITY - Anne Patchen, 100, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Grand Traverse Pavilions. Born in Chicago, she was the daughter of Walter and Sophie (Rostkowski) Zachocki.
Anne became a registered nurse at the age of 20, and worked as a public health nurse for Cook County in Illinois. In 1929, Anne married her physician husband, and in 1931, accompanied him to Detroit, where he studied for his specialty in communicable diseases and she obtained her nursing license in the state of Michigan. When returning to Chicago, Anne worked side-by-side with her husband in private practice.
A few years after Dr. Patchen died, Anne moved to Michigan to be near her family. She traveled extensively and had an intense interest in languages, music, and the arts, and had a commitment to the culture and history of Chicago.
She was the beloved mother of Paul J. (Vi) Patchen II and David A. Patchen; grandmother of two; great-grandmother of two; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Her husband; sister, Selma Haczynski; and three brothers, Alexander, Theodore and Anthony Zachocki preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., in Chicago. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at St. Michael Church in Chicago. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
