The family is being served by the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff Funeral Home and Cremation Service. BUCKLEY - Joan Marie Henigan, 69, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at home. She was born, in Buckley, on March 11, 1935, the daughter of Hubert and Lola (Micham) Kellogg, both deceased. On Sept. 27, 1952, she married H. Charles Henigan. Joan enjoyed oil painting, quilling and crafts. She is survived by five children, Linda (James) Mason of LaFayette, La., Laurie (David) Knapp of Kingsley, Julie (Anthony) Hansen of Buckley, Charles Henigan of Interlochen and William Henigan of Mesick; eight grandchildren, Tonya, Joslyn, Jeff, Amber, Lindsay, Lacey, Tony and Betsy; five great-grandchildren; sister, Mareda Chauvin of Lapeer; and a dear friend, Creston Straley of Buckley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Lyle Kellogg. A memorial service will be held at the Buckley Wayside Chapel on Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions, in Joan's name, be directed to Munson Hospice House, 1105 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley. PORT HURON - Jane Chase, 75, of Port Huron, passed away Tuesday evening, Sept. 21, 2004. Born in Ann Arbor, on Jan. 26, 1929, Jane was the daughter of Frank and Beatrice Fachie and sister of Jerry Fachie of Ann Arbor. Jane enjoyed her home on Long Lake, having lived in Traverse City from 1973 to 1979. She is survived by her two children; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her children and their families are daughter, Vicki Pasco of Port Huron and her children, Stephanie, Heather, Dyan, Jeri-lynn and Joshua; and son, Jerry Meyers of Kansas City, his wife, Lisa, and their children, Nicholas and Lindsay. At the family's request, cremation has taken place and family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association at 800-337-3827. TRAVERSE CITY - Vera Kay Prozinski, 61, of Traverse City, known to her friends and family as Kay, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at her home with her family present at her bedside. Kay was born, in Sandy Hook, Ky., on May 10, 1943, the daughter of Green and Ethel Fannin. She lived there with her family until she was eight years old, at which time the family moved to Indiana and then later to Ohio. She married James Paul Prozinski in 1967, in Livonia. A licensed practical nurse, Kay had been employed by Grand Traverse Pavilions. Kay loved life. She had a wonderful sense of humor and spent many hours enjoying the programming of Home and Garden Television. She loved all kinds of nature, especially watching birds. Her constant companion, Pepper, was always at her side. Kay attended Peninsula Bible Church. Survivors include her children, Kim Prozinski and James Prozinski, both of Traverse City and Mike Prozinski of Ann Arbor; granddaughter, and the love of her life, Ashley Prozinski; and siblings, Carl (Jeanne) Fannin of Live Oak, Fla., Mike (Sue) Fannin of Greensboro, N.C., John David (Majlinda) Fannin of Livonia and Madge (Leo) Petrangel of Allen Park. Kay is also survived by her special and dear friend, John Thompson of Traverse City. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Prozinski in 1984; and by her parents. Visitation will take place Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Pastor Philip Douglass will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions, in Kay's memory, may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions or Hospice House.
