Obituaries

      VIRGINIA L. BRIGHT, 86, of Traverse City, died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 7, 2005, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
      Visitation will take place Tuesday evening, Aug. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home.
      A complete obituary will be in the Tuesday edition of the Record-Eagle.

      RICHARD A. DAIL, 88, of Traverse City, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Munson Hospice House.
      Arrangements are pending with Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay.

      DENNIS KOZLOWSKI, 54, of Lovells, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005.
      Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lewiston.
      Arrangements are being handled by Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, Grayling.

      CHRIS A. STEINMILLER II, 24, of Interlochen, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005.
      A complete obituary will appear in the Tuesday edition of the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
      Arrangements are pending and have been entrusted to the Covell-Smith Funeral Home, Kingsley.
     
Michael 'Mike' Feichtenbiner
Died August 6, 2005
      TRAVERSE CITY - Michael "Mike" Feichtenbiner, 70, of Traverse City and Grand Rapids, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Munson Hospice House.
      Born in Ithaca and raised in Sparta, Mike graduated from high school in 1953. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University, and served in Korea. His initial employment was with U.S. Gypsum Company. In 1965, he joined Ritsema Associates, and retired as vice president in 2000.
      The Feichtenbiner family resided in Greilickville in 1959, and then seasonally at Mickey Lake since the 1960s.
      In Grand Rapids, Mike was an active member of the YMCA and Central Y Service Club. An athlete all of his life, Mike is a member of the Sparta High School Hall of Fame. In the 1970s he became a runner, participating in the River Run 22 times and in six marathons, three in Boston.
      Mike's other interests and activities included sailing and shooting as a member of the SASS (Silver Shooter) with the Rockford Regulators. He and his wife, Lois, were members of the Town and Country Dance Club.
      Mike's life ended at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. The family's never-ending thanks go to the caregivers who made him so comfortable. Their loving care brought him to a beautiful, peaceful ending. Thanks also go to Dr. Enrico Sobong, Sheila O'Roark, and other staff members of the Cancer Center of West Michigan.
      Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois; son, Mark (Susan Behrens); granddaughters, Karolyn (7), Alicia (5), and Michelle (2) of Blue Bell, Pa.; daughter, Renee VanHouten; grandsons, Ed (17) and Alex (15) of Caledonia; brother, Terry (Lynda) Feichtenbiner of Youngstown, Ohio; and his mother, Elaine Beattie, a resident of St. Ann's Home in Grand Rapids.
      Please join family and friends for an informal reception in Mike's honor Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Twin Lakes Gilbert Lodge, 6800 North Long Lake Rd., Traverse City.
      Honor Mike's life in Traverse City with contributions to Munson Hospice House, 1105 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684, or to the Long Lake Foundation, in care of the Long Lake Township office.
      Arrangements have been made by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City.
