      MAURICE F. ALMA, 88, of Frederic, died Sunday, July 17, 2005.
      Visitation will take place today, Tuesday, July 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, Grayling.
      Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at First Baptist Church of Frederic.

      J. GLEN BURGIN, died Monday, July 18, 2005, at Tendercare of Traverse City.
      Arrangements will be announced by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.

      HARRY KAMINSKI, 85 of Empire, died Monday, July 18, 2005.

Leona E. Blackmer
Died July 16, 2005
      KALKASKA - Leona E. Blackmer, 81, of Kalkaska, formerly of Chesaning, passed away Saturday morning, July 16, 2005, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
      She was born Sept. 12, 1923, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Alberts) Morrissette. She married Gerald "Bud" Blackmer on Oct. 5, 1946.
      She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Bud" Blackmer; four children, Jean Ann (Karrie) Illner of Washington, Mich., Dale (Linda) Blackmer of Grand Haven, Pat Bonner of Saginaw and Jane (Chris) Martin of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Maves, Frances Gasper and Jane Alden; a sister-in-law, Thelma Morrissette; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Beckman.
      She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Blackmer on July 25, 2004, and Donald; her parents, Leo and Mary Morrissette; step-mother, Mary Morrissette; brothers, Albert and Robert Morrissette; and a sister, Lucille Jordan.
      Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning today, Tuesday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a scripture service at 7 p.m., followed by a rosary.
      Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of one's choice.

Ellery 'Pat' Cloutier
Died July 17, 2005
      TRAVERSE CITY - Ellery "Pat" Cloutier, born in 1918, passed away Sunday in the loving care of Munson Hospice House with his family at his side.
      He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise Hauck Cloutier; his children, Susan Cloutier, Judith Cloutier, Anthony (Nadine) Cloutier, Linda (Jack) Willey, Karen (David) Wetelainen, Joan Cloutier and daughter-in-law Virginia Cloutier; his grandchildren, Michelle (Jerry) Schmidt, Lisa (Angel) Llama, Timothy (Stacey) Cloutier, Daniel (Mickey) Cloutier, David (Holly) Cloutier, Michael Moore, Eric Cloutier and Kathryn Willey; and six great-grandchildren.
      Two sons, Michael and Patrick, preceded him in death.
      Pat retired from AM General, where he was a design engineer working on the design of the first Hummer.
      Pat was a member of the Father Fred Foundation and started the pantry at the onset of the Foundation, working closely with his best friend Father Fred.
      Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City.
      In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Munson Hospice House. Enough cannot be said about those who cared for him at the Hospice House; their care and compassion made his last days peaceful.

Mabel A. Jamieson
Died July 15, 2005
      TRAVERSE CITY - Mabel A. Jamieson, 90, of the Old Mission Peninsula, died Friday, July 15, 2005, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
      Mrs. Jamieson was born April 26, 1915, in Indiana, the daughter to Harvey and Francis Jarrett. Mabel lived in the Traverse City area since childhood and in Florida from 1977 to 1994. She was a homemaker on the family farm on Old Mission Peninsula, and was also employed for 10 years at the Traverse City State Hospital.
      In her spare time, Mabel enjoyed painting, gardening - which included raising beautiful Iris and practicing organic gardening - mushroom-picking, walking in the woods and playing cards. Mabel was a member of the Ogdensburg United Methodist Church, her children's PTA, and the Civil Defense.
      Mabel is survived by her sons, Calvin (Verla) Jamieson and Elmer (Farrell) Jamieson, both of Traverse City; daughters, Judith A. (Ed) Eckart of Paola, Kansas, and Janice (David) Guest of Harrietta; sisters, Thyrza Gilmore, Francis Hill and Helen O'Niel, all from Florida; grandchildren, Kelli, Karla, Krista, Jamie, Lori, Jeanne, Janice, Thomas, Matthew, Michael, Todd, Toby, Jessica and Mark; and 17 great-grandchildren.
      Mabel was preceded in death by her husbands, who were brothers, Harold Jamieson and Ivan Jamieson; her parents; a son, Jack Jamieson; brother, Elmer Jarrett; sisters, Mary Lawrence and Ruby Gilmore; and two grandsons, John Jamieson and Kim Jamieson.
      Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, at the Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church (formerly Ogdensburg United Methodist Church), with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Dave Minger will be officiating.
      Memorial donations may be made to the Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church, the Grand Traverse Pavilions or the Traverse City Senior Center.
      The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.

Irene K. Lyons
Died July 17, 2005
      LAKE LEELANAU - Irene K. Lyons, 93, of Lake Leelanau, died Sunday, July 19, 2005, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      She was born Feb. 19, 1912 in Omena, the daughter of Anthony J. and Mary (Kolarik) Kovarik.
      Irene loved baking, gardening, and especially crocheting and making afghans for everyone.
      Irene was a very special mother, grandmother , great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved all of her children and affectionately called them her "tweety birds." When it came to her "tweety birds," she had an endless imagination for finding fun things for them to do, including playing in the playhouse she built for them above the garage, the boat in the woods, the old blue car, and many, many other play things.
      She is survived by her daughters, Beatrice Hobert of Maple City and Donna (Raymond G.) Cooper of Suttons Bay, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Esther Barrett, Beatrice Murray and Elsie Lederle.
      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake Leelanau, where visitation will take place one hour prior to the services. Rev. Michael Janowski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cermetery.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Parish.
      Arrangements are with the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.

James Irwin Marchant
Died July 15, 2005
      TRAVERSE CITY - James Irwin Marchant, 39, of Traverse City, died unexpectedly of natural causes Friday at Munson Medical center.
      Jim was born Oct. 21, 1965, in Key West, Fla., the son of Alfred H. F. and June (Peckham) Marchant.
      Jim had been in the area the last six years, coming from Lansing and Sault Ste. Marie. He was a graduate of Sault Area High School in 1983. He also graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with dual degrees in 1989. After that, he graduated with distinction from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, where he was a member of the Thomas Cooley Law Review. Jim was active with his high school newspaper, and then worked at the Sault Ste. Marie Evening News and the Cooley newspaper as well.
      Jim was a member of the Key Club, the Michigan Bar Association, and was a practicing attorney in the Traverse City area for the past six years.
      Jim loved and was very proud of his children and family. Jim coached soccer and swimming and loved to teach chess to his son. He also enjoyed lawn work and gardening.
      Surviving is his wife, Anita of Traverse City; his adopted son, James P. Purkiss of Traverse City; his two children, James I. "Jay" Marchant II and Amber R. Marchant, both of Traverse City; his parents, Alfred and June (Peckham) Marchant of Traverse City; four brothers, Alfred of North Dakota, Thomas (Evelyn) and Robert (Wanda), both of Pennsylvania, and Paul (MaryBeth) of Detroit; a sister, Jean Marie Marchant and her fianc‚, Joseph Busceti of Long Island, N.Y.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Marie Marchant.
      Friends may call at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City this evening, Tuesday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the funeral home.
      Memorial donations may be made to the Marchant family.

Jackie Mae (Boone) Prus
Died July 16, 2005
      GRAND RAPIDS - Jackie Mae (Boone) Prus, 64, left her body to be present with her Lord, accompanied by angels, on Saturday, July 16, 2005. She was born in Traverse City on Aug. 13, 1940, to Albert and Maxine (Rushton) Boone.
      Jackie graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 1958, and went on to attend Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College in Grand Rapids.
      She was a talented musician and played the piano for the musical "Pirates of Penzance," in high school. She loved to laugh, and did so often, and also loved to share her humor with others.
      Jackie will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, a devoted mother, a very special grandmother, and a great friend.
      She is survived by her husband, Don Prus; son, Vance (Jane) Peck; daughter, JoAnne (Aldolfo) Rios; her mother; brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Boone and David (Jan) Boone; sisters, Nita (Tom) Nauta and Donna (Pete) Olson; and step-children, David (Pat) Prus, Teresa Prus Kowalski, Donna (Ray) Schmidt, Linda Prus, Michael (Eileen) Prus, Patrick Prus, Marcia Grzywacz, Joseph (Tasha) Prus and Sheila Boggs.
      Grandma Jackie is also survived by her grandchildren, Alecia, Andy, Vance, Emily and Tony, Jennifer, Stacy, Jenine, Eric, Ryan, Tyler, Shannon, Stephen, Sam, Sabastion, Adam, Indigo, Asia, Josie Mae, Brittany and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Alexandra; and many nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her father and a sister-in-law, Kay Boone.
      The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 19, and Wednesday, July 20, at the Stroos Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids.
      A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern SE, in Grand Rapids, with a luncheon immediately following.
      Memorial contributions may be made to Gilda's Club, 1806 Bridge St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
     
Grace Marie Weadock
Died July 17, 2005
      TRAVERSE CITY - Grace Marie Weadock, age 17 months, died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids as the result of accidental injuries.
      Grace was born in Traverse City on Feb. 26, 2004, the daughter of Sharon M. (Zywicki) and Daniel A. Weadock.
      Grace's vigor for life exuded through her love of dance and music, and selflessly bringing joy to others. She will always be remembered as a beautiful, loving and happy little girl.
      Grace's love of life will continue to live through others, thanks to the donation of her organs through the Gift of Life program.
      Grace is survived by her mom and dad, Sharon and Dan; by her sister, Kathryn Antoine and her brother, Nathan. Also surviving are her grandparents, Thomas and Dorothy Zywicki of Traverse City and Thomas and Barbara Weadock of Saginaw; her uncle and godfather, Timothy Weadock; her uncles Andrew (Ali) Weadock, Edward (Tokiko) Zywicki, Ronald (Peggy) Zywicki and her aunt, Linda (Richard) Merchant; her cousins; her godmother, Ruth Johnson; many great-aunts and great-uncles, including a special great-uncle Leonard Kraitz; and a host of extended family.
      Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 20, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Rene Hoenscheid.
      The Mass of Christian Burial for Grace will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. William Lipscomb serving as celebrant.
      The family has suggested that Grace be remembered not through flowers, but through a memorial contribution in her name to the Munson Emergency Room Campaign, 1105 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684; The DeVos Children's Hospital, 100 Michigan St., N.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49503; or to the Grace Marie Weadock Memorial Fund, c/o Traverse City State Bank, P.
