ELIZABETH ANN ANDERSON, 77, of Traverse City, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Munson Medical Center.
At her request, no services will be held.

CORNELIUS NEIL BRISTOL, 79, of Torch Lake, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Elk Rapids.

A memorial service commemorating the life of HARLAN D. YEAGER (former Traverse City and Cedar resident) will be held at the Omena Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2005.

Lottie Elizabeth
Christie
Died July 19, 2005
TRAVERSE CITY - Lottie Elizabeth Christie, 90, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. During her last days, she was surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Lottie was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Pickford, to Edward and Mary Alberta (Hyde) Lawless. She spent much of her life in the Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., area. In 1937, she married Orville Oliver Christie.
Lottie was an elementary school teacher. She received her teaching certificate after attending County Normal School in the 1930s. Her career began as a teacher in rural one-room schools. Lottie later taught for several years at Bruce Township Consolidated School.
While teaching and caring for her family, she continued to pursue a college degree and earned a Bachelor of Science from Northern Michigan Teaching College in Marquette in August 1963. Lottie also taught school on Kincheloe Air Force Base and retired from the Ann Arbor Public School System in 1975.
Following her retirement, Lottie taught as a volunteer at the Navaho Nation in Window Rock, Ariz. She moved to Traverse City in 1990 to live near her family.
Lottie was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, sewing, baking, preparing large dinners for her family and friends, studying history, but most of all just loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, quick intelligence and wonderful sense of humor.
Lottie was preceded in death by her infant son, Donald; her parents; three brothers, Edward, Charles and Thomas Lawless; three sisters, Della Kasprzyk, Bertha Znamierowski and Mary Fitzpatrick.
She was the much beloved mother of Frank (Pat) Christie of Onekama, Donelda (Bruce) Holland-Moritz, Bruce (Margaret "Peg"), and Carol (David) Lemmen, all of Traverse City. Lottie also leaves six grandchildren, Kevin, Timothy, Gregg, Christy, Kelly and Tobin; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
The family will be receiving visitors Friday, July 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at St. Francis Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Peter Eke will be officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Father Fred Foundation.
Jarold E. Deneen
Died July 16, 2005
SARASOTA, Fla. - Jarold E. Deneen, 93, of Flint, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, in Sarasota, Fla.
Jarold was born in Elklano on May 12, 1912, the son of Arthur and Margaret Deneen. Jarold and Charlotte Deneen were untied in marriage on Aug. 8, 1932, and were married for 62 years before she preceded him death in September 1994.
Jarold worked in the automobile industry as a refrigeration repairman. He enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes, working on antique outboard motors and he belonged to the Bradenton Shuffleboard Club.
Surviving are his two sons, Richard (Evelyn) Deneen of Swartz Creek and Robert (Linda) Deneen of Traverse City; three grandchildren, Keith, Paula and Peter; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Harold and James.
Visitation will take place today, Thursday, July 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Rd., Grand Blanc.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the funeral home, where visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Crestwood Cemetery.

Clare E. Glandon
Died July 15, 2005
FT. MYERS, Fla. - Clare E. Glandon, 88, of Ft. Myers, Fla., died on Friday, July 15, 2005, at Shell Point. He was born on Nov. 22, 1916, in Norden, Neb., son of Clarence and Mary Glandon.
A resident of Ft. Myers since 1982, he formerly lived in St. Louis. He graduated from the University of Nebraska, where he met his wife, Joyce. He was employed for 43 years by Pet Milk Company of St. Louis, Mo., retiring as a vice president.
An Army veteran, he served during World War II in the Pacific, attaining the rank of Captain, and earned three Battle Stars and the Bronze Star.
Clare was active in the community as a member of Rotary, Boy Scouts of America, the United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Masons for 50 years.
He and his wife are very proud that all three of their children graduated from Northwestern University and have advanced degrees.
Mr. Glandon is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joyce (Kovanda) Glandon; his precious children, Virginia (George) Nugent of Vestal, N.Y., Judith (Robert, deceased) McLachlin of Chesterfield, Mo., and Robert (Victoria) Glandon of Ridgefield, Conn.; six dear grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, James of Kearney, Neb.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, in the Faith United Methodist Church, 15690 McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the above named church.

Allan W. Kinney
Died July 19, 2005
PRESQUE ISLE - Allan W. Kinney, 85, of Presque Isle, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Alpena Regional Medical Center.
Allan was born March 5, 1920, in Traverse City, to Leon W. and Nellie E. (Plough) Kinney. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, attaining the rank of Lt. Col. upon his discharge.
Al married Jean VanEck on Sept. 12, 1942. His loving wife of 44 years preceded him in death in March of 1986.
Al graduated from Michigan State College in June 1942 in electrical transmission. He was a State of Michigan Registered Professional Engineer, and a life member of the NSPE and MSPE (as a Fellow), for which he served as vice president and treasurer. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi-Alpha Pi Chapter and Phi Lambda Tau fraternities, and the Society of Scabbard & Blade. He was also a member of ASHRAE, AFA, SCORE, ROA, the Rotary Club and the Elks.
Al was chosen as "Engineer of the Year" in 1981 by the Flint Chapter of MSPE, and by the Jackson Chapter of MSPE in 1972. He has been employed in a number of capacities within his chosen field, including Consumers Power Co. and Aeroquip in Jackson. He retired from Rose Engineering of Flint as president and CEO.
Al loved the time spent enjoying photography, golf, fishing, reading and traveling.
Al is survived by three daughters, Kathryn (Dennis) Paauwe of Portage, Carolyn Gilligan of Sugar Island, Texas, and Annette (Harold) Tittler of Jackson; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his longtime companion, Mary Butch of Alpena, and her family.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Ann.
Mr. Kinney has been taken for cremation by McWilliams Funeral Home of Alpena. There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the Grand Lake Chapel with Rev. Clive Dickins officiating.

Janet I. Kroupa
Died July 16, 2005
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. - Janet I. Kroupa, 82, formerly of Traverse City, died on July 16, 2005, at her home in Pembroke Pines, Fla., with her family beside her.
Janet was born March 20, 1923, to Carl J. and Verna (Marlott) Richards in Buckley. She married Vernon A. "Buff" Kroupa on June 21, 1941. In their 64 years together, they raised four children on the Old Mission Peninsula, Traverse City and in South Florida.
Janet, a homemaker, was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and travel, and will be lovingly remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. She was a longtime member of Ogdensburg Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Buff; sons, Gene (Sandy) Kroupa, of Newfane, N.Y., Jerry (Nancy) Kroupa of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Traverse City; daughters, Sandra Del Rosal and Linda Cox, both of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and a sister, Martha Jean (Lyle) Van Pelt of Kingsley. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michelle Kroupa, Danielle Kroupa, Jerry (J.T.) Kroupa, Eric Del Rosal, Phil Del Rosal, Jason Del Rosal, and Marissa Del Rosal; and her four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Wylie Clark; four brothers, Lavern, Harold, Claire and Jack Richards; and her granddaughter, Jeneen Kroupa.
Friends and family may visit from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Joseph Scarano Funeral Home, 9000 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, Fla.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 25, at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Davie, Fla.
Barbara J.
Parritt Shinaver
Died July 19, 2005
KALKASKA - Barbara J. Parritt Shinaver, of Kalkaska, passed away on July 19, 2005, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. She was a resident of Kalkaska for 37 years, moving from Flint.
She was born Nov. 16, 1928, in South Haven, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth (Bolles) Nation. Barbara married Everett Parritt, and he preceded her in death. On Sept. 6, 2003, she married William Shinaver in Kalkaska.
Barbara enjoyed music, movies, singing, helping others and spending time with friends and family. She never met a stranger and was the family comedian.
Surviving Barbara is her husband, William Shinaver; her children, Richard (Josie) Anderson of Fife Lake, Arlene (John) Markus, Brenda (John) Rogers and Everett M. (Sandra) Parritt, all of Kalkaska, and Tena Crewse of East Jordan; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Barbara in death was her husband, Everett, in December 1994; her daughter, Judy Ann Parritt in October 1962; and her sisters, Deloris Simmons and Betty Gondol.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, July 21, from 1 until 8 p.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fife Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be given on behalf of Barbara to North Country Hospice in Kalkaska.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home.
Helen Rose Watson
Died June 13, 2005
TRAVERSE CITY - Helen Rose Watson, 89, of Traverse City, died June 13, 2005, in Ohio. She had lived in Traverse City for 20 years.
Helen's last wish was granted - a trip to Ohio to visit her much-loved family.
She was the widow of Fred Watson.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet L. Davis and her husband, Donald E. Davis; three grandchildren, Scott Davis, Dana Davis Martin and Glenn Davis; and four great-grandchildren, Carmen, Katherine, Shay and Drew.
A graveside service took place in Ohio.
Helen was much-loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
