Funeral services for NORMAN R. FARNHILL, "The Tax Doctor," will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2005, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation will take place today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
DOROTHY H. MACOMBER, 95, of Traverse City, died Monday afternoon, March 7, 2005, at Munson Medical Center.
Cremation has taken place; no services are planned at this time.
The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City.
Richard Joseph Finan
Died March 12, 2005
KALEVA - Richard Joseph Finan, 44, of Kaleva, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at his residence. He was born Sept. 1, 1960, in Frankfort, the son of Stanley and Mary (Jewell) Finan Sr.
Richard was the owner of Finan Services in Kaleva. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Onekama Lions Club and Ducks Unlimited.
In his spare time, Richard enjoyed snowmobiling, playing golf, softball and basketball.
On Aug. 22, 1986, in Kaleva, Richard married Theresa Smith, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Brandon and Kalin; father, Stanley M. Finan Sr. of Onekama; brothers, Philip Finan of Onekama and Stanley "Mickey" Finan Jr. of Onekama; nephew, Ben Finan; and niece, Haylee Finan.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Finan.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 19, 2005, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kaleva, with Reverend Russ Garrigus and Pastor David Taylor officiating.
The Terwilliger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lucille Elaine Fox
Died March 5, 2005
TRAVERSE CITY - Lucille Elaine Fox, 89, of Traverse City, formerly of Boyne City, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Lucille was born on April 25, 1915, in Boyne City, to Atwood and Minnie Sheaffer.
On May 18, 1932, Lucille married Donovan S. Fox in Horton Bay. Together they farmed until 1948, when they became affiliated with the Ben Franklin Fox Variety Store in Boyne City, which Lucille and her husband eventually bought and operated for 32 years.
Prior to residing in Traverse City, Lucille enjoyed her retirement years living in New Port Richey, Fla. One of Lucille's greatest joys was following the athletic endeavors throughout the years of her grandson, Kyle, who was the love of her life.
Surviving Lucille are her daughter, Donna Manthei (Larry) of Traverse City; grandson, Kyle Kilcherman of New Jersey; brother, Atwood Sheaffer of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Donovan Fox; sisters, Margaret Deadman, Cecilia Fox and Catherine Cyr; and nieces, Peggy Forlini and Jane Muzyl.
A celebration of Lucille's life will be held in the spring.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Pavilions for the wonderful care they gave Lucille during the last months of her life. Their compassion and sensitivity gave Lucille much comfort.

Wilma T. King
Died March 8, 2005
TRAVERSE CITY - Wilma T. King, 90, of Traverse City, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Bortz Health Care.
She was born Sept. 5, 1914, in DePue, Ill., to Josef and Theresa (Novak) Dolinsek, grew up in Muskegon Heights, and moved to Traverse City in 1953.
Wilma worked for many years as a waitress and bartender at establishments in the Traverse City area. She especially cherished the many friends and memories made during her years at the U & I and the SawMill in downtown Traverse City. Her warm smile and willingness to help others will be remembered by many. She also enjoyed her west side neighborhood and daily walks.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie (Steve) Baase of Cedar; sister, Theresa (Arthur) Cosner of Kalamazoo; granddaughters, Lara (Don) Turk of St. Cloud, Minn. and Lissa (Jeff) Staal of Highland Ranch, Colo.; grandson, Ryan (Kristin) Bennett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three great-grandsons, Jack Lambert Turk, and Garrett and Ian Staal; and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Augusta (Frank) Lampe; brother, Joseph; and son, James A. Bennett.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held in the spring.

Isabelle "Issy" Schantz Reid
Died March 11, 2005
LONG LAKE TOWNSHIP - Isabelle May Schantz Reid, affectionately known as Issy, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005, at home. She was 81.
She was born in Flint on Feb. 20, 1924, the daughter of Marion Lyle (Cameron) and Paul Louis Schantz.
Isabelle graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1942. She was employed as a proof reader in the banking industry and later was employed by The State Of Michigan Unemployment Securities Commission, retiring in 1980.
A resident of Traverse City since 1967, Isabelle had previously been a resident of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She was a member of the Long Lake Senior Citizens, the Senior Center in Gulf Shores, Ala., and loved to travel the world.
Isabelle enjoyed reading and especially enjoyed crocheting, crafting comforters for her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherry (William) Flachsmann and Mildred (James) Bender, all of Traverse City and Muriel (William) Walter of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Cydney Shepard and her husband, Richard Fritz, Alexis (Jeremy) Bannen, Kimberley (Jay) Valloric, Brian Flachsmann, Nathan (Daniela) Moravec and Sven Moravec; her great-grandchildren, Alexander, Austin, Ashlynn and Alyssa Valloric, Olivia Grajewski, Emma Shepard, Raymond Fritz, Jazper Fritz, Kristian Moravec, Nathan Moravec Jr. and Anna Moravec. Also surviving are two sisters, Lois Steffens-Nelson of Traverse City and Audrey Crain of Ohio; one brother, Jack Schantz of Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Visitation will take place at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Norwood Cemetery in Charlevoix when the weather permits.
