Michael Allen McIntosh Died May 25, 2005 Heaven- It is not so much that we Shall enter into all joy, As that all joy shall enter into us. --St. Augustine-- Traverse City - Michael Allen McIntosh has returned home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith in God, his quiet courage and his spontaneous sense of humor were with him always, especially during his two year battle with pancreatic cancer. The loving family he leaves behind will forever cherish the time they had with him. Michael was born in Carson City, to the proud parents of Maxine and Almon McIntosh. After graduating from Freesoil High School, he continued his education at Ferris State University, where he earned a degree, with honors, in Automotive Education. For 33 years, he was an instructor of Auto Mechanics and Welding at Northwestern Michigan College. He also taught Driver's Education in the Glen Lake and Traverse City School districts. Due to his ongoing health problems, he retired in 2004. Michael's love of teaching inspired and motivated his students to continue their education and achieve their full potential. Michael was a proud member of the Michigan National Guard and was honorably discharged after six years of service. As an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, he served as an Usher and a Eucharistic Minister. Michael's life was devoted to his true love, Carol, and their family. He was always there to help and support his wife, his children and grandchildren. As a husband and a father, Michael was an inspiration and a constant source of encouragement. His family and friends will always remember him with great pride and joy, and a smile in their hearts. Michael's survivors include his wife, Carol; their children, Kevin and Wendy (Runyon) McIntosh, Michele (McIntosh) and Terry VanKleek and Jason McIntosh; his grandchildren, Caleb, Levi, and Elijah VanKleek, and Keenan McIntosh; and his mother, Maxine McIntosh.
