WILLIAMSBURG - Willis C. Allen, a well liked and well respected member of the community, died on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions after a long struggle with a neurological disorder. He was 80 years old.

After World War II, he enrolled at Michigan Tech and received his Bachelors of Science in electrical engineering.
Will was employed with Consumer Power for 38 years, spending time in Manistee, Cadillac and Traverse City. Universally known for his wonderful, ever-present smile, he spent his life looking out for the other guy and being the mainstay of his family.
He began his career with Consumers in Manistee, and in June of 1954, married Barbara Wresinski in the Rectory of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Onekama. While living in Manistee, he was an active volunteer with the JayCees, was installed as Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge 250, and was talked into appearing in two productions with the Manistee Civic Players.
