October 10, 2005ObituariesClara Rosemund CuthbertDied October 7, 2005 TRAVERSE CITY - Clara Rosemund Cuthbert, 90, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions Willow Cottage. Clara was born in Donaldson on Dec. 24, 1914, the daughter of Edmund and Leta (McLean) Morrow. She married George M. Cuthbert in Sault Ste. Marie on June 1, 1934. She lived her first 75 years in and around the Sault Ste. Marie area, and with her last breath, still called the Sault home. Clara was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Sault Ste. Marie. She enjoyed traveling with her husband of 71 years. They visited every state in the country, as well as Great Britain and every province of Canada. Clara enjoyed parties, visiting family, and playing on the floor with her great-grandchildren and grand-dog. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Elda Miller; her brothers, Mervin and James Morrow; and two infant sons. Clara is survived by her husband, George; son, Gary (Bea) Cuthbert; daughter, Beverly Cuthbert; granddaughter, Renee (Robert) Guzanek; grandson, Brent (Chris) Cuthbert; great-grandchildren, Mitch and Meaghan Guzanek, Blake, Parker and Carson Cuthbert; several nieces and nephews; and her grand-dog, Abby. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. this afternoon, Monday, Oct. 10, with visitation one hour prior at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. The Rev. Becky Chamberlain will be officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie, with Rev. Dave Henderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions, First United Presbyterian Church in Sault Ste. Marie, or to the charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank the staff of the Willow Cottage for their wonderful and loving care of "Clara Bell," and Pastor Becky for her support and comforting presence. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City. Minnie M. Hall Died October 8, 2005 TRAVERSE CITY - Minnie Mary Hall, 96, of Traverse City, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Tendercare of Traverse City - Birchwood Campus. Minnie was born in Gaylord on July 10, 1909, the daughter of Mary (Fergustol) and Alex Mannor. She married Harold E. Hall in January of 1929. Minnie had been employed by Munson Medical Center in the dietary department for 12 years, prior to retirement. She enjoyed doing needlework and also gardening, canning many of the vegetables she raised. Survivors include her children, Evelyn (Robert) Summers and Edward (Jo) Hall, all of Traverse City, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold, who died Dec. 26, 1992; her children, Walter, Marion and Helen; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and her siblings, Delia, Alice, Gilbert, Alfred, Rose and Amza. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the funeral home, with The Rev. Father William Lipscomb officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to The Alzheimer's Association or to The Salvation Army.
