Obituaries

      KEVYN A. BROWN, former resident of Benzonia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor.
      Services will be held at the McElduff-Jowett Funeral Home in Benzonia today, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m.
      The Benzonia Chapel of McElduff-Jowett Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.

      GENEVIEVE FRANCES CLARK, 101, of Traverse City, died in peace on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at Munson Hospice House.
      A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A complete obituary will follow in Friday's edition of the Record-Eagle.
      The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.

Donna M. Manley
Died September 27, 2005
      BANKS TOWNSHIP - Donna M. Manley, 83, of Banks Township, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at Munson Medical Center.
      Donna was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Monroe County, the daughter of Garold and Auria (Carson) Aysh. She married Harold A. Manley on Aug. 26, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio.
      She was administrative assistant of Adult Education for the Concord, Mass., schools until moving to White Pine Shores eight years ago.
      Donna was a member of the Grayling Quilting Guild. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and miniatures in Concord, Mass. She loved Dixieland Jazz and was a devoted mother and wife.
      Donna is survived by her husband, Harold; sons, Jon of Nashua, N.H., and Thomas (Suzanne) Manley of Townsend, Mass.; granddaughter, Caitline Manley of Townsend, Mass.; and sister, Geraldine McSorley of Florida.
      Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix.
      The family suggests memorial contributions to the Grayling Quilting Guild.
      Arrangements were handled by Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix.
     
William W. "Scotty" Scott
Died September 27, 2005
      MANCELONA - William W. "Scotty" Scott, of Mancelona, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at Munson Medical Center. He was born Aug. 18, 1932, in Marstella, Pa., the son of Wilbur and Charlotte Scott. Scotty married Threasa Rinehart on Oct. 20, 1956, in Hudson.
      He was a veteran serving our country in the United States Navy as a boilerman on the USS Pairie during the Korean Conflict.
      Scotty retired from Al-Ken Zigler in Kalkaska after 39 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Mancelona and a life member of the Kalkaska VFW Post 8684.
      Scotty is survived by his wife of 48 years, Threasa; daughter, Mary Ellen (Scott) Keil of Hillsdale; grandchildren, Scotty (Laura) Fuller of Hudson, April (Adam) Bailey of Fayette, Ohio, Chrystal Patterson of Fayette, Ohio, and Stephanie Keil of Hillsdale; great-grandchildren, Logan Fuller of Hudson, David Patterson Jr., Tyson Bailey and Landon Patterson, all of Fayette, Ohio; siblings, Mary Ann (Francis) Ellis of Massachusetts, Stella Smith of New York, Richard (Sue) Scott of Alabama, and Wilma (Dave) Hatt of New York.
      Scotty was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Jean Scott.
      Visitation will be held today, Sept. 29, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. The funeral service will be Friday Sept. 30, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark McCool of the Antrim Church of Christ officiating. The Kalkaska VFW Post 8684 and The American Legion Post 0264 of Mancelona will provide military honors at the funeral service.
      Arrangements were made by the Wolfe Funeral Home.

Dorothy Stephison
Died September 23, 2005
      MANISTEE - Dorothy Stephison, 80, of Manistee, formerly of Arcadia, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee.
      She was born July 30, 1925, in Moorehead, Minn., the daughter of Anton and Monica Ann (Wilhelm) Fisher. Dorothy married Erwin Stephison on April 10, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
      She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. For 20 years, Dorothy lived in Arcadia before moving to Manistee. She enjoyed boating, sewing and cooking for her family.
      Surviving are son, Darryl (Kathy) Stephison of Seattle Wash.; daughter, Cheryl Stephison of Manistee; granddaughter, Laila Stephison; brothers, Frank Fischer of Fargo, N.D., and Gene Fischer of Pueblo West, Colo.; and sister, Patricia (Fisher) Mueller of Pueblo West, Colo.
      She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Alex Fischer, Sylvester Fischer, John Fischer, Barbara (Fischer) George and Veroncia (Fischer) Roberts.
      Memorial services will be held by St. Ann Catholic Church at the Frankfort United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at 11 a.m.
      The Benzonia Chapel of McElduff-Jowett Funeral Homes and Cremation Service is handling arrangements.
