Lawrence Bender was supposed to be on hand to help introduce his film, "An Inconvenient Truth," on Thursday night. However, festival founder Michael Moore delivered the news — like a common joke that always gets a laugh — that he wouldn't make it for the opening and probably not by the end of the movie because his plane out of Detroit Metropolitan Airport was delayed. Laughter erupted, chuckles rippled. Moore said Lawrence didn't understand how this could happen, but that he (Moore) knew it was something many of us could relate to.
