Photographer's work features local scenes

CADILLAC — The Bistro on Mitchell Street is featuring an exhibit and sale by Cadillac-based photographer Jim Szabo all month.

The collection of local images includes traditional black and white fiber-based selenium-toned photos recorded in the Cadillac area in the past 10 months. Images range from a fresh snowfall in Kenwood Park and the steaming canal in below-zero weather to hay bales in Falmouth, an angel on a barn side in Boon and a barn in Manton. Photos are silver gelatin, processed to archival standards.

Szabo taught photography and English at McBain High School for 26 years. His work has been published throughout Michigan and beyond.
