Museum celebrates German heritage

The Manistee County Historical Museum is celebrating the area's German heritage with the presentation of "A Lilliputian Christmas,” a display of German memorabilia, holiday traditions and decorations as well as toys and miniatures, a display of classic toy trains and a decorated log cabin and period rooms, through Saturday. Silent movie gets live soundtrack

Crystal Mountain holds film festival

Crystal Mountain near Thompsonville will host a ski and snowboard film festival today at 8:30 p.m. to help raise money for the Northern Michigan Adaptive Ski Program in tribute to Michigan filmmaker Teddy Knape, a longtime friend of the resort who suffered from a heart defect since birth and died at age 21 while shooting a film in a remote location of British Columbia last March.
