TC Central places fourth at Northville

Traverse City Central had three runner-up finishes in Saturday's Northville Invitational.

Detroit Catholic Central, ranked seventh in the state in Division 1, won the tournament with 20 points, followed by Northville (18), Farmington (14) and the Trojans (12).

Three Central doubles teams lost in the finals. Jamie Olson and Spencer Powell fell 6-2, 7-5 to Detroit Catholic Central at No. 1; Jack Milliken and Ben Watts lost 6-7, 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2; and Jeff Byl and Glover Koesh lost 6-0, 6-2 to Northville at No. 4.

The Trojans' Doug Burke finished third at No. 1 singles, and Michael Leigh and David Noble won the back draw at No. 3 doubles.

Central returns to action Tuesday with a home match against Big North Conference rival Cadillac, then hosts its own tournament on Saturday.
