Volunteers keep things going

The Traverse City Film Festival wouldn't go without its volunteers. This year between 750 and 850 volunteers literally helped run the show.

Festival Volunteer Coordinator Anne McEnany said many of them are teachers and retirees — people who work in the school system and have the summer off, along with freelancers and others with flexible schedules.

"They're highly motivated, extremely proud of their ability to contribute, very friendly and eager to help.”
